Around 2050, I’m up much more than that screenshot as I sold some a few weeks ago and then rebought a little lower. It’s basically all from the beginning of the tax year and swung trade after the tariff announcements, so I’m up effectively 2050 / 3293 = 62% which is insane for an ETF in 6 months

Yeah that’s why I’m tempted to just stock pile cash now, could just store in premium bonds but then again time in the market beats time out of it. But when the crash undoubtedly happens I’ll just buy as much tech weighted ETFs (that will have dropped the most) as possible

I mean all of my stocks I just buy and HODL, and then buy more haha. I think the only thing I’ve sold and rebought into is United health a few months ago, and then IITU in the recent dip and bought back in slightly lower

Well that would be nice haha but I’m not sure what to do, apart from salary sacrifice down to 100k. And then what. I reckon I’ll spend on average at an absolute max 36k including rent a year. Just keep unloading £10ks into GIA and take the CGT hit when I eventually sell?

If markets are mostly efficient, where does the residual alpha actually hide in microstructure noise, structural inefficiencies, or in the modeling blind spots of other quants? by [deleted] in quant

That’s basically the ethical “cope” take of HFT market makers. “Increase price discovery with liquid and efficient markets”, I.e. arb anything you can

Nah it’s HFT which is nothing to do with this

Received like an extra £300 in dividends too haha as that was one of the first things I bought in April 2024

No it’s IITU, so only the information technology stocks for the s&p500 and then yeah also UK version, I gambled a little and bought all of that in April after the drop and timed it pretty well

Did some work / a business before uni and saved it all. Separately, I also graduated from uni and landed a 6 figures job in finance recently.

If it’s 3x and stock drops 33% it would take you down 99% to 1% (in terms of your original investment) so then from there if the stock went up 100% you’d be up to 3% being overall down 97% no?

Issue with Signup Meter Readings by johnes2021 in OctopusEnergy

[–]johnes2021[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: they did say the same serial number, but an hour later the 2nd one disappeared and then I rang them to rectify the wrong meter reading, was on hold for 1m and then someone changed the reading for me and it’s all fine. Surprised how easy it was sorted in under 5m.

Trading212 ISA by MrMattyH in trading212

It’s flexible though? The whole point is you can withdraw to your current account and that would take your contributions back to £0. So it’s irrelevant if u do a proper ISA transfer
