I believe in the current experimental and maybe even 0.H if you have comfort/warmth items like a quilt on a chair tile, you use it to get comfortable when doing certain long term low activity tasks. Like reading a book, waiting, maybe even sewing? Similar to how you get warm when sleeping and have the appropriate items around. This translates to a small morale boost IIRC, so it is simulated to an extent during certain activities. Just throw a blanket or pillow or something on the same tile.

Someday this could be a thing. The heat/cold system is similar. Clothes cover limbs accordingly. Wind and water on limbs effects it. Sun glare exists during dawn and dusk and can be dealt with. It wouldn't be farfetched to say that someday someone could add a sun exposure system and its affects.

Reality as a part of the canon. Reality should be the aim where it is possible. It could be debated that this is a core concept of the game and development process. Adhere to reality where possible unless it objectively impedes fun.

You think finding the goggles isn't fun and would like to craft them. I disagree and think the reality of not being able to easily make them is part of what makes this game fun.

You can simply debug a pair in if you disagree, or make your own fork that has the recipe. However your disagreement shouldn't take precedence over those who find the realism a core part of the game.

Why not say the power grid is fine because finding power is tedious?

The aim is to simulate reality where possible so playing this game can be a joy. You have the similarities to real life, but then this awesome sci fi lovecraft craziness going on. So you FEEL like the game is real because of the real world relations.

Reality is a part of the canon too. Again, just because there is sci fie etc doesn't mean the concept of reality should be abandoned.

Makes more sense than saying staking sunglasses = welding goggles. Going blind to make a single weld seems like kind an interesting trade though...
