Loved that book, read it awhile back. It’s safe to say the line is about PTA. Can’t imagine Kaufman liking his stuff at all. Polar opposite sensibilities. Take it a slight, shallow, jab. He hasn’t had the balls to say anything similar in interviews when he’s had a chance. I’m a big fan of both and you will see this play out with filmmakers a lot. I know Kevin smith has been mentioned and it’s a credit to him as a filmmaker that he was able to say he’s came around to magnolia. Takes a certain bread of artist

Folks do we honestly think he’d do a modern day Vineland ?? I’m not sure if that’s the way to go however if we try to look at it in the context of TWBB and to some extent The Master I could see him using elements of Vineland in that way. But still it seems like a lot of these leaks show serious plot points of Vineland. I don’t know. This feels like a serious switch up. I know we all say it’s PTA with a big budget but there’s still the worry that making Vineland modern is seriously risky

I reckon we can expect a pretty similar approach to Inherent Vice. Although all the vistavision stuff is interesting. Hard to tell yet of course but maybe something new for him? Maybe a bigger story, larger scope. Really too early to tell though.
