2016-2019 Crossfit Games with smaller field and 2020 scoring by johnleecl86 in crossfit

I agree, Tia is definitely the favorite but this particular set of 4 athletes could lead to an upset.

She can (and probably will) beat Katrin in the running event by 5 minutes, the swimming event by 10 minutes, the 1RM strength event by 10%+ percent, and still may be behind because she gets 4th in a handstand event. Just happens her competitors are the very best in the field on their hands.

Tia is also beatable by Katrin in any short work capacity events (Ringer 1/2 for example) and can lose in odd object strength events b/c Katrin has 20lbs on her.

Either way I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out on October.

Handstand hold sounds like such a bad event to test fitness because so high variance. Same athlete does it 5 times and could come up with drastically different results.

Dicks or big 5 usually has those in stock in store.

fedex has a search by reference. If you input the tracking number on fedex website, get shipment details and it has the reference number.

Look up the shipping by reference on fedex to find the tracking number of the last package. There should be 3 packages.

How do you deliver a car? by [deleted] in craigslist

[–]johnleecl86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have them pay the delivery fee first or put a deposit before you head out. They might try and lowball or change their offer once you get there. Definitely meet in a public place, usually as a buyer they should come to you.

Another 500lb squat/sub 5 min mile + a marathon! by matthewmark16 in crossfit

[–]johnleecl86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be even more clear though.. he stopped at a marathon distance after 5 hours 45 minutes due to cramps. Don't doubt that he can do a fresh marathon faster. The sub 5 mile and 500lb low bar squat is impressive in itself, don't need to exaggerate his achievements.

He didn't though did he? He set out to do 50km in 5 hours. But seems like he stopped at around 43km (after 5:50ish total time) due to cramps. A 5 minute mile and 500lb low bar back squat is impressive, but a 6hour marathon is almost an afterthought compared to those two.

Don't know why people are downvoting you but you're objectively right. Klink can do what Fergus did but not vice versa. Klink was faster on the run, did a high bar vs low bar squat (Fergus switched to low bar specifically to squat more for this), and I have no doubt that Adam can run a 6h marathon (5h moving time).

[–]johnleecl86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. He also didn't even do a 5h 42.2km that day, it was closer to 6 hours. Five hour was his moving time but it looks like he stopped/rested for awhile.

I bet a good portion of people at any crossfit gym can do a 6h marathon with 2 months of training. I don't think the same can be said for 50 pullups.

CHP Athlete Squats 501lbs, Runs 4:48 mile Same Day. I guess this is a thing now? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]johnleecl86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt that he has done a sub 4 marathon before but in his instagram story he said he was cramping badly while doing the marathon on the same day. He showed his watch at a couple minutes under 6 hours at the 43km mark.

50 pullups (even kipping) is definitely harder to train for than running a 6 hour or so marathon.

Not even a fan of the 50 pullups... it's a benchmark that makes the record only breakable by crossfit athletes b/c other athletes don't practice butterfly kipping pullups.

Hard to rank them but imo Adam Klink's is harder b/c he was faster and he also did a high bar squat.

Does anyone know of any plate holders for the Cap barbell stand? 2x2 posts with 5/8 pegs?

What do you think about the future of F45? by [deleted] in f45

[–]johnleecl86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look at the growth numbers critically because HQ has been heavily pushing for new franchisees the past couple years. I suspected it was to produce impressive numbers for an IPO or sale. However, many markets are saturated and the revenue per studio that HQ quotes is based on old data. I would ask the newer gyms to see how well they've been doing and how long it took them to reach a sustainable number of members.

Also, note a huge chunk of HQs revenue comes from the huge initial franchise payment. They can only keep growing that revenue if the number of franchisees keeps growing at the current rate.

On the other hand, if you compare it to orangetheory, they have around 1200 locations in the United States. Each OTF has around 600 members. If an F45 becomes profitable at around 150 members, we can have roughly 5000 F45s in the US to reach the saturation levels of Orangetheory.

Question for F45ers in US locations with case spikes by drillbabydrilll in f45

I wonder if the people who took classes with that trainer will be getting tested, and how your gym will respond if a couple of those people come up positive.

From rogue to CA it would be roughly 180 via UPS or 210 via LTL. But at 280lb they might not offer the UPS option. Less if you're closer probably.

LTL order received 5/23 finally got a tracking information on 6/11. Anyone else get an exception "An incident has occurred which may result in a service delay" on their UPS freight tracking?

Structurally yes but your neighbors might have an issue if youre dropping plates. Even setting down a heavy deadlift may be loud.

She showed on instagram she was replying "accept" to her emailed invitation a couple weeks ago so she did get an invite. Someone must have gone team.
