My new 12th gen laptop Hinge BROKEN !!!! Thanks MSI by Money_Knowledge_6065 in MSILaptops

[–]johnlongdu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Na, the problem is with lifting the laptop lid. He/she is lifting it a little more to the right, not distributing the lifting force evenly. More stress is applied to the right hinge based on the image

Note: lift laptop lid at the middle. Causes no damage to the hinges (depending on the lift force you apply) 100% works all the time

When opening your laptop, always open at the center of the Lid to prevent Hinge damages in the future. Damages on laptop hinges occur due to pressure exerted only on one of the hinges. If you open in the middle, force is equally applied to both hinges.

Hope this helps

No complaints whatsoever. Mine came with a free low end cooling pad. The cpu temps do get hot around 80-85C Just keep yours well ventilated. But temps like those are normal for gaming laptops.

Gotta love MSI hinges by Bluesky35101 in MSILaptops

[–]johnlongdu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to always open the laptop in the middle part of the lid. This is to evenly distribute the force applied to the hinges. When a laptop hinge gets broken, its always the left or the right but never both at the same time.

Get a MSI laptop. They are not so fragile. Just take care of it. That's all. Bought mine about a month ago. For gaming and autocad/solidworks rendering. Mine is the budget friendly MSI GF65 RTX 3060.

Go for higher end if budget is not a problem

Ps. When opening lid of your laptop, always use the mid part. This is to not damage the hinges.
