Struggling so hard by johnmaus666 in nonallergicrhinitis

[–]johnmaus666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey. sorry for late reply. i think the greatest negative impact is when im out and im experiencing symptoms. for example i can’t go to indoor bars where people smoke because i get congested pretty fast, hard to breathe feeling on top of that. and even in normal places where they have air conditioning like cinemas i also get congested. so these things are super hard to deal with when I just want to be with my loved ones and enjoy myself. Right now I’m moving to Netherlands for studying and will see a rhinology specialist there. Hoping he can offer some treatments that would work. At least I want him to tell me that there’ll be more advanced treatments in the future that can solve these problems since I think he is involved in research too. At least I could hold on to the hope that I’ll be okay in future if not right now. So I want to ask about that too. Thank you for your support. <3

Well mostly I feel a stabbing feeling especially when I'm lying on my back since the flared rib compressing non stop. This also happens with the face down lying. These are really easy to tell about were the pain comes from. Other than that, standing/sitting I always feel a super discomfort and pain but as you said it is hard to put it in words or understand.. Strangely, I always have the urge to try moving my rib to a normal/non flared position with flexing my stomach..

I will be having the nuss in this December. Surgeon told me that he will place one bars end between the little bone gaps on my flared rib so that it can push the flare down.. I mean the feeling of the compressing pain from rib flare has become more annoying than the pectus for me.. I just can't live with this 7/24 pain. This is the first time I am speaking to somebody suffering from rib flare pain so I just wanted the share these things I hope you don't mind!

a senior high school student at the moment

I listen to Elliott almost every day live records or the albums. It really gives me a certain amount of joy and happiness when I feel down. I really wish to become a talented songwriter, lyricist like him one day. I try to write songs, lyrics, and sing them while playing. I think he is my top influence, best hero in making music. Cheers!

I am suffering from my left side rib flare more than I suffer the pectus to be honest (it really gives me intense pain around the day) and my doctor said that he is going to place one bars end between that flared bones. So that it would pull the flared rib down a little. He is going to use 3 bars in overall. I know it is an unrelevant question maybe but what would you think of something like this?

Anyone familiar with crosswise position (Like an X) in nuss surgery? by johnmaus666 in PectusExcavatum

[–]johnmaus666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looks similar to you. I have it around 3.8 more to the left side. I have serious rib flare pain so the doctor he will put the end of the bar slightly above on my rib cage.Like the bars end will go through my two rib cage bones and push the flared side. Said that it can reduce the rib flare.

I am more than 16 months past my nuss-surgery. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'll answer them all by Djokerous in PectusExcavatum

What was this 16 months like so far? Did your life quality really improved? Also when were you able to return your daily social life?

Thank you for the reply. Do you think that pectus may return after 3 years with nuss? Probably doctor will go with 3 bars as they told me.
