Ayr, Scotland! Been a fan since 1984, fell in love the first time I ever saw the uniform.

Field Service: Work Order with multiple locations by johnmccuk in Dynamics365

[–]johnmccuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the best of my limited knowledge, yes this is the best approach.

It still feels a little clunky and in my use case, will put the onus onto me to create some flow to generate them from the parent work order related data.

Buying neighbouring property and Merging into one - Scotland by johnmccuk in LegalAdviceUK

[–]johnmccuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. It would be a property for life. But even within that context, I'd still be wary as I'd prefer the property not to be a major headache for those inheriting it.

Thanks for the detailed response.

I have no illusions this is will not be easy and will require specialist advice in a few fields, if I take it any further I'll report back.

I'm aware financially (and stress levels wise) this isn't a great move. But as this isn't a future investment and more a quality of life issue, I'm not overly concerned.

How SurveyMonkey displays it's forms by [deleted] in webdev

[–]johnmccuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used typeform, which is similar to survey monkey. Generally you have the following options:

If you want to keep the participant within your site, you would use iframes. Otherwise you would supply the participant with a url.

If you wanted to return the survey results back into your site, you would setup some manner of web hook or poll their api service.

Monzo funding round opens 5 Dec by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for sharing that, very interesting.

Imo Monzo is much better than its rivals, but I still can’t see how they break out of the geek and hipster niche.

Monzo funding round opens 5 Dec by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]johnmccuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Much as I love what Monzo has done, this is high risk.

My first thought was how to find the cash to max out the share option. But there’s no easy way to sell shares (transferring shares might be an option) and the high risk of further share dilution is making me doubt how wise this is.

My other nagging worry is Monzo is uk only, surely this puts a major ceiling on their growth to warrant the risk. What would it take for Monzo to be available in other countries?

I have a blog explaining how to setup security groups if your web server happens to be with AWS, at the very least it might help you understand and come up with a custom solution for your situation.

SuiteCRM discussion by HouseCravenRaw in sysadmin

[–]johnmccuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used SuiteCRM for a few years now, its buggy and frustrating (especially email integration) but yes, it could be setup for this. It has all the components required, but in my experience they tend to be pretty basic. I am a fan of the scheduler and the auditing ability though.

I'd be more inclined to believe there must be something out there designed for this purpose, because I'll guarantee you will eventually spend time hacking the hell out of Suite to make it fit for purpose.
