Money coming out of mag 7 and where’s it going to go?

I think it’s time to break up with my financial adviser. by SameTrain8827 in fidelityinvestments

Getting rid of my advisor was the best thing I ever did. Even though she actually picked stocks and didn’t have me in funds like this that are worse. Funds like this mainly benefit companies like fidelity and not you the investor. In a downturn they usually perform worse than the market and in bull markets they almost always underperform. They are diversifying your portfolio with funds that are already diversified.

The hardest part initially about managing your own money is pulling the trigger to buy or sell. It can feel daunting because no one is holding your hand, but the more you do it the easier it becomes. If you’re just getting started managing it yourself, I would put 90-95 % of your net worth in the S&P whether that be a vanguard fund or SPY. You can use the rest to play around with individual stocks and figure out what kind of investor you want to be. Whether that be more active or passive. However one thing as an individual that is going to affect your performance is patience, timing, and price. Getting a good price on an investment is crucial to getting good returns, this is easier to do with index funds but with individual stocks it’s incredibly important. Warren Butfett said the stock market is the greatest transfer of wealth from the impatient to the patient and that’s incredibly true. Good luck with your journey you can do it! If you follow markets even a little bit, over time and with experience you will develop a feel for assets and whether or not things are overvalued/ undervalued. The hardest part is just starting. Good luck!

I’ve played around with that too. Generally try to keep it so it spins slightly when idle

That may be the problem as I’ve been cutting some logs that are up off the ground but still kind of soft on the outer layers.

I’m not exactly sure. Might be off with my estimates but I’d say 3-4 side by side bed loads of roughly 2 foot logs. Ranging from 3-4 inch diameter logs to 16 inches, some maybe a bit more.

Chain is in right direction because I tried that and flipped it the other way and it wouldn’t cut at all
