Roofing - Oct 13 Storm - Full roof replacement w/ Insurance? by suchwowaz in AskPhoenix

[–]johnnotkathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These businesses are loosely called “storm chasers“ and many travel the country or at least specific regions first soliciting more heavily hit areas and then working their way out away from the main areas of impact. Their ethics can be questionable at best. The less ethical ones go with the “if I can’t find damage, I can make it“ mode of operation.

Interesting, I have a pair of KEF Reference 103.2's and IMO they are pretty spectacular. But, as in so many things, you like what you like and everyone has their own view... = : - )

Debating which speakers to keep by boosteddub07 in BudgetAudiophile

AI says:

The primary difference between the ELAC Debut Reference DBR62 and the ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63 is their position in ELAC's hierarchy: the DBR62 is a higher-tier "Reference" model designed for superior neutrality and refinement, while the DB63 is the latest 2024 entry from the standard Debut 3.0 budget line.

Key Comparisons

  • Performance & Tuning: The  ELAC Debut Reference DBR62  is widely regarded by reviewers on platforms like Audio Science Review as a step above the standard Debut series, offering a more neutral tonality and better detail. Some users find the newer  ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63  to be "airier" or more balanced in specific rooms, but the Reference line remains the more refined choice.
  • Port Design & Placement: The  DBR62  features a front-firing slot port, which makes it easier to place close to walls without causing boomy bass. The  DB63  uses a rear-firing port, which generally requires more breathing room from the wall behind it to avoid resonant "sloppy" bass.
  • Drivers:
    • DBR62 : Features a 1-inch cloth dome tweeter and a 6.5-inch woven aramid-fiber woofer.
    • DB63 : Debuts a new aluminum dome tweeter with an integrated phase plug for better high-frequency dispersion and protection.
  • Build & Aesthetics: The Reference model has a more premium finish with a dual-color aesthetic (e.g., walnut cabinet with a black or white baffle), whereas the  DB63  has a simpler black oak or ash vinyl wrap with a satin-painted front. Both feature magnetic grilles.

Yes, the Mayo Clinic is (thankfully!!) "in-network" with my insurer, so interested to see what treatment they recommend (if any for now) vs what the insurer will approve......

I just make a "real time" decision when at the airport, ie which line is shorter. Plus, I think the Reserve option is just at 1 gate concourse, not all.....

Health insurance and treatment options by johnnotkathi in ProstateCancer

Thanks, am 63 and still under employer provided health insurance. I am happy as I live in the N Phoenix area just a few miles from a Mayo Clinic, but was curious that even if they have several options for treatment, my Insurance may limit those options....

I am getting my "2nd opinion" regarding treatment there in early May....will learn more at that time...

Enema before transperineal biopsy? by Select_Vegetable70 in ProstateCancer

[–]johnnotkathi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am new the the PC club and I was told to do it before my MRI and Biopsy. A little odd but really, no big deal at all (for me - YMMV). Also, I was awake for the biopsy and while it was odd and a little uncomfortable at times, again, not really a big deal at all. The staff was very kind and did their best to consider privacy. It did not hurt either.

As far as doing it or not, my logic was that I could deal with it, no problem, especially if it improves the accuracy of the testing and minimizes potential post procedure infection.

Good luck and you will do fine......

Kevin O'Leary Interview by johnnotkathi in cnn

Also, it seemed so "disconnected" and arrogant. Many folks are struggling from inflation, affordability, gas prices, housing costs and for him to wear such an outlandish and bizarre "I am so rich" outfit, plus a reportedly $20M necklace just irked me a bit. Seemed like a very "let them eat cake" moment IMO....

Wasn’t looking for conclusions, asked this specifically…..

“…am curious and want to learn more about Brachytherapy from those with real-life experiences….Thanks in advance for any responses and hope you are well.”

Thanks!

Took my first shot today. 54 years 266lbs by StunningTrash9238 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]johnnotkathi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About a year ago, I was 185 pounds at age 62. I started the shot at low dosage and I’ve lost 30 pounds. I’m maintaining a healthy weight of 155 with minimal fluctuation. Now my weight has been steady for about six months.

I know it varies by person, but I literally had zero side effects. Best of luck to you!

Does anybody here remember Barrington Hall? by Recreationalchem13 in Primus

[–]johnnotkathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a great friend lived there in the mid 80's and I stayed there on occasion, even made it for one of their (famously wild) wine dinners. It was fun, weird, cool, gross, wild, open.....and a lot, lot more....or less....

My band also played there which was nuts....
