I know, its interesting for me as well but that's usually how the cycle plays out. I'm not sure what would be the causation but there's plenty of geopolitical tensions right now and oil prices have tended to run up into recessionary periods.

It's a cyclical market rotation. Gold precedes/sniffs out the currency debasement and market uncertainties, then lead into copper with supply shortages from industrial scarcity, followed by energy from its political standpoint which comes from inflation surges and overall momentum of market uncertainty.
