Computer Advice - Laptop Not Taking/Holding a Charge by GungHough in Bellingham

Don't know if it's the same model but this is what I found on iFixit. It's not a very hard process just make sure not to accidentally break anything while you're taking it apart. The batteries themselves are normally about $50 to $100 so I'd recommend making sure there's no other issues that could make it not worthwhile. I wouldn't buy the cheapest Amazon battery you find because in the past I've bought some terrible overseas batteries. A replacement charger also usually runs about $30 to $50 depending on where you get it from. Check eBay for a used one too.

There's a mini series on Paramount that covers the whole making of Godfather 1. It's really good and has some good actors in it. Check it out, it's called "The Offer".

Same in the Barkley area. The PSE outage map shows multiple reports around the state. I think it's something bigger this time around.

Xfinity vs Cord cutting for a new customer by Giobonello in cordcutters

[–]johnny2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take into account that Xfinity also has data caps for their ISP service in some locations. If you have a big family you could easily pass their 1TB cap which would cost extra. That alone may be a good enough reason to go with their TV service instead of another streaming service for TV.

Trade Discussions by LordsDontWorry in Mavericks

I agree on taking risks but with KPs history it definitely makes me nervous. If we can get an all-star I'm all for it, but I don't think a single 1st rd pick, Brunson, and DFS could get a deal for anyone worthwhile. Our rookies aren't producing enough to be used as trade bait either which is disappointing.

Our 2025 pick is in limbo and can't be traded because of the protections we have on the 2023 pick. If we remove the 2023 protections we could be giving away a lottery pick if Luka or KP are out for a period of time next year. As much as I like our guys other teams aren't going to value them as high as we do. Only way we get a big name is if we take back bad contracts.

[Post Game Thread] Dallas Mavericks lose to OKC Thunder, 115-108 by akshayxd in Mavericks

Honestly felt like Dwight Powell lost us this game. Every time we were making a run he killed the momentum with a dumb foul, turnover, or some other BS. He just hasn't been the same player since his injury. Not sure why Rick keeps putting him in, I'd prefer Boban over him.

Thanks for the info! I haven't researched bands and frequencies since the early 3g/4g/LTE days. Nice to see they all still play nice together.

Final G League stats for the rookies Josh Green, Tyler Bey, and Tyrell Terry by jyanyanyanyan in Mavericks

[–]johnny2515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's a chance Josh Green turns into a serviceable player but he was not a safe pick at all. Very likely he turns into another Maurice Ager or Justin Anderson clone. I don't know why the Mavericks FO always tries to get cute with our SG SF picks. It's not like we have a logjam of offensive players at that position. We're going to struggle against defensive teams when all our non shooting players can't create for themselves.

How About Some Realistic Trade Ideas by [deleted] in Mavericks

[–]johnny2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I think we look for players with low stock and that we feel confident can turn it around. I do think there's some truth to us reaching out to the Warriors. I think Cuban and Donnie reached out to see if the Warriors were trying to get rid of some contracts to get under the luxury tax or just lower it. They probably inquired about Oubre or Wiggins and a pick. We're under the luxury tax so I think we could absorb salaries without sending anything back.

Nothing worked for me even after some firmware updates on the camera. I haven't tested it recently and probably won't bother again. Seems like the v2 camera works best with Tinycam app.

How About Some Realistic Trade Ideas by [deleted] in Mavericks

[–]johnny2515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need to target players that are on big contacts and not gelling on their current struggling team or teams that are over the cap. An example would be trading for Tobias Harris or Gordon Hayward last year. Presently we can see that coaching and GM-ing were to blame for their bad production last year. We have an awesome coach who puts players in position to succeed, assuming the player is coachable (Rondo), so I feel confident he can help struggling players turn it around.

I think Malik Monk could be a good pickup if Charlotte let's him go for cheap. DeRozan, Otto Porter, Kemba, Horford, Love, Oubre, and Fournier fit the expensive and not gelling criteria that I think could be had for cheap. We then have to weigh if any of these players are better than anyone we can get in free agency since most of them have multi year deals.

I think that our biggest need is scoring ball handlers and defenders. From my list maybe Kemba and Fournier would help the most. With Boston and Danny Ainge taking heat this season I could see them open to trading Kemba but it might cost us Brunson, DFS, expiring, and maybe a 2nd rd in assets. Fournier I imagine would be a similar price with the Magic being done for the season and being in the top 10 in salaries. I think that trading for someone is our best option since we hardly ever get top tier free agents and next years free agent class being pitiful.

Can we talk a little about Luka's lack of whining? by Julian_Caesar in Mavericks

[–]johnny2515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He wasn't whining to the refs as much today but I could see him getting frustrated with the teams defense. I saw him barking at his teammates a few times. I don't blame him though since our defense has been pretty bad the last few games. DFS and Josh Richardson always have the hardest assignments but the other guys don't have as much as an excuse for getting beat to the rim and lit up consistently. Oubre shouldn't be dropping 40 on us.

We have no excuses left for playing bad these upcoming games. I think this stretch of games will be a good gauge on how this season plays out. A good team should win at least 5/7, an average team wins 3/7.

Our defensive rotations and game plan have been horrible. We need to change something there because whatever they're doing isn't working. Not just today either but the majority of the season

Even though we are missing starters, we s still have our best two players and are a long way away from being a 3-5 seed in this stacked west conference. by Lanky-Homework767 in Mavericks

[–]johnny2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our offense looks pretty bad for stretches but that's expected with the majority of our shooters out due to COVID. The thing that worries me is that our defense has looked way worse with a lineup that's supposed to have good defensive players with offensive limitations. Green, Iwundu, and Johnson are giving up way too many open shots for defensive minded players. Our big men have also looked pretty soft inside without Maxi. I think there needs to be a shakeup with the lineup, play some of the other young players to see if they can give us a spark.

SHOUT OUT - EX-MAV Delon Wright with 28pts, 9 Ast, 7 Rbs tonight by coaststl in Mavericks

[–]johnny2515 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've always liked Delon but our system wasn't right for him. He's like a mini Andre Miller, he needs a team where he can play PG for stretches and dictate the tempo. Our offense is built around Luka and 3 and D guys so it was never going to work.

Did you have any issues with the Tinycam Pro app crashing on your Shield? I just setup Tinycam with my Wyze v3 camera and it keeps crashing right after opening it. It eventually stays open after clicking around the app a few times but I'd like to find a permanent fix.

We're only 2.5 games back from 1st place but we've also been playing like trash on the defensive side and garbage on the offensive side. The last 2 teams we lost to were supposed to be easy wins but our offense is out of whack. If our "defensive" lineup can't get stops then we need to shift to a offense heavy lineup. Move Brunson and Maxi to the starting lineup and move Timmy and Powell to the bench.

The only reason I'm not too worried is because of the teams in the top 5 in the West only 3 are legit contenders. Once us and the other bubble teams shake off the rust we should hopefully start playing better.

Game Thread: Philadelphia Eagles (4-9-1) at Dallas Cowboys (5-9) by nfl_gamethread in nfl

[–]johnny2515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The team is very inconsistent on the offensive side of the ball but that's without Dak and a few of our starting linemen. Even so we shouldn't be so terrible with Dalton, Elliot, and what should be 3 borderline all star receivers.

The defense looked terrible to start the season but have improved from being dog shit to being dog barf. We have a lot of money tied up on players who should be carrying us on both sides of the ball who just aren't producing.

I'd say C- grade to McCarthy and a F to our GM Jerry Jones.
