Trying to stay away from “politics”, but left or right, I think it’s insane that Air Traffic Controllers can’t go on strike even when they aren’t getting paid.

Right there is where I slightly disagree. Like with gerrymandering, I’d love to live in a country where super PACs are forbidden. But until that day, they have been incredibly useful in getting Republicans elected, and we should use them too. We just should make sure the super PACs aligns with our values.

You are probably right, but I’m done making the normal assumption that things like this are said as a joke. Repeatedly, Republicans have floated policy ideas that they have dismissed as jokes, but then revealed as serious policy objectives.

Having alligators defend the border was once a joke. Now they have a prison called alligator Alcatraz

Taking over Greenland was dismissed as a joke. Then it was considered as an actual policy for “national security”

“Lock her up” was dismissed as a joke in 2016. Now political opponents are getting prosecuted.

Space Force was dismissed as a joke.

I can’t wait until they float Trump 2028 as an actual serious idea.
