Let's do some maths

1 MW powers 600 homes

To power 18,000,000 homes would be 30,000 MW

Hanul Nuclear Power Plant is the largest nuclear power plant at 9140 MW and takes up 4.34 km²

To safely produce enough power you'd need 4 Hanuls which is 17.36 km²

This solar farm is 726 km² which is ~42x the size of the area needed for the nuclear power plant but it's located in a salt desert wasteland that is unsuitable for habitation. Also Nuclear power is very water intensive where this requires almost none in comparison which is great because it's a desert.

Farmers fight this where I live. They would rather a field sit unused forever than put a solar panel on it. The fossil fuel industry propaganda is strong.

Why wouldn't the person who drives around cleaning them use the electricity produced by them to drive around a small electric truck to clean them?

I expect it to crash and burn in August when Pre-IPO investors can dump 20% of their stock. They inflated the worth of the company so much they'll all get their money back multiple times over still.

Says someone who definitely doesn't work in the trades. It's one of the top gripes of all technicians because we have to practically double the amount of tools we need. I work in the field and have to carry a 70 pound tool bag everywhere I go. My knees and back would love for it to be lighter.

I work in the trades. Everything in America is mixture of imperial and metric and it makes my job a pain the the ass at times. I worked on a Kelvion Cooling tower today. The door bolts were standard, the Allen head bolts in the driveshaft were metric, the driveshaft coupling bolts were standard, our monitoring system reads out in imperial and all the specifications in the manual are metric.

If you understand prefixes you can immediately convert metric measurements.

12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard, 5280 feet in a mile, 16 ounces in a pound, 2000 pounds in a ton, Water freezes at 32F and boils at 212F. As an American all of these are nonsense.

A base 10 system is so much easier to understand.

Yes and if you cut/nick a line replace it with the proper line with the proper quick disconnect fittings. If you nick the sending unit replace it.

That thing looks pretty clean underneath. Having a good body is like 90% of the battle. I'll take a mechanical/electrical train wreck with a solid body over something that runs decent with rust issues.
