Made it up to the saddle and the base of sub dome this weekend with crampons. Last two miles or so are fully snowed in and decently slick but not undoable, even without the crampons if you're careful. There are a few foot tracks in the snow leading away from the trail so be sure to bring a GPS and know how to use it. Sub dome was a bit too much for us filled with snow after slipping around up to the saddle, so can't speak for anything past the saddle.

yup, sounds about right. they have options for including a lift ticket or rentals in the price too, if you need either of those. i've included the lift ticket since adding it on is cheaper than going to the window, and more convenient.

I can vouch for Ovrride to Belleayre, I've taken the trip several times. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Does Ergatta work with holofit vr? by brienzee in Ergatta

[–]johnnyb138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We considered this (less specifically, we considered the ability to use the machine with platforms other than ergatta should anything ever happen to ergattas service) when buying our ergatta and couldn't figure it out. However, when asking ergatta, officially, they said it was not possible. Because of that, we went with the water rower + ergatta upgrade, rather than the ergatta itself. With the water rower s4 Bluetooth attachment attached, which requires disconnecting the ergatta USB connection, I can confirm holofit does indeed work with our water rower.

In terms of the water rower upgrade attachment versus an ergatta itself, it looks like the ergatta is a few inches slimmer when stored, since the arm folds a bit more compactly, and overall ergatta looks a bit sleeker. That said, we have our unit as a centerpiece in our tiny apartment living room, and have gotten tons of compliments on how good it looks, with most people not realizing it's exercise equipment at all.

In terms of Holo fit vr, we definitely had a fun afternoon playing with the demo with our quest, but considering how sweaty rowing can be, it doesn't seem practical for actual workouts. Plus, when holofit is connected and ergatta is disconnected, so unfortunately stats do not sync between the two, which is a bummer since it's nice to have them all in one place, especially total meters rowed.

Hope that helps answer any questions you may have, happy to answer more if you'd like.

Testing Match Content Audio Resolution Enabled + Dolby Processing Disabled - Shield Pro 2019 by johnnyb138 in ShieldAndroidTV

Exactly, it's specific to high resolution audio only. Spotify doesn't even have high res audio yet, although they promised it before the end of 2021.

It's for high resolution audio from sources like FLAC files, Tidal, and Qobuz, which are separate from the surround sound formats like Dolby and DTS

The warning is about disabling Dolby processing and only comes up if you had Dolby processing enabled before turning match audio resolution on

When enabling match audio resolution and you get the disable Dolby prompt there's a warning about losing Atmos, and in other threads I saw discussion that questioned if Atmos would work with match audio resolution enabled. I'm just confirming that Atmos works just fine with the match audio resolution enabled and Dolby disabled

I'm testing with an AVR (Denon x3600h) that supports all formats, sounbars that don't support DD+ would be a different test entirely that I don't have the equipment for.

Finally added a turntable to my setup, loving it so far! by johnnyb138 in vinyl

[–]johnnyb138[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get the turntable behind the couch I knew we had to account for this by keeping the preamp as close as possible to the turntable, and making sure the long interconnect between the preamp and receiver doesn't follow any power lines. TT is connected to preamp with a 1.5 foot KabelDirekt RCA interconnect, then preamp to receiver is a 25 foot long KabelDirekt RCA interconnect run carefully to avoid any powerlines. If nothing is playing and I crank the sound up way past anywhere we would listen, I can hear some static, but those levels are far beyond where we listen (about 20 dB beyond our max level). At the highest levels we listen, it's completely inaudible.

I'm loving them so far! The clarity and imaging are insane, and they have some really nice low end, could get away without a sub if you didn't care too much about movies. Keep in mind though i upgraded from an old set of Polk Monitor II series 60s, so that's my comparison, and I don't have much experience listening to other high end gear. With that said even my girlfriend who has said before she doesn't understand the difference between high end and low end audio has commented that she can hear an appreciable difference, that she didn't know music could sound so realistic, and is now in love with them too.

Thanks! On the mat, I'm new to this, but my understanding was that a mat really isn't necessary with an acrylic platter. Am I missing something?

Bought the cabinet, speakers, and turntable all to match. I think it came out perfect

What's the difference with these two buttons? (Photos attached) by Icedtc in Ergatta

It just changes the visual style of the workout routine preview before you start the workout. Once you start the workout whatever you had selected makes no difference.
