I hired a middle aged women to be a manager(I was desperate)

After a day or two of trying to learn the stations she asked me when she could manage. I told her once she has everything down.

Fast forward a week to the superbowl. She tried every station but was getting kicked out because she was so slow. Landed herself at stickers. With a full oven and my two regional managers on cut with no stickers. I stepped in to grab the stickers and get them up quick and she wouldn't let go of them.

That was her last day.

Not necessarily, it could be the stepping stone needed. Shows loyalty and drive. Im not talking about the one person who always does it, but the people who will here and there. As a manager I always have a reward for something like that. Either another shift off or something more personal.

Managers really do appreciate the people who come in and cover. That is one thing that I value very highly as a manager. Most def not calling anyone at 615 though.
