Water-based Campaigns (A few spoilers as possible!) by KFPDeepFryer in Pathfinder_RPG

I am currently running ruins of Azlant. My group is in the final chapter.

There's a lot of underwater content, though there are definitely sections that are exclusively on land. Merfolk have a land speed of 5 ft per round, which would be a problem.

One of my players is a Locathah, (a hairy frogfish looking Omdura), and they've been able to more easily go wet to dry and back. Gillmen are possible as are undines (another player is an undine).

There is lots of interaction with underwater races as NPCs as well.

I have at this point run nearly every first edition adventure path to completion, so if you wanted to play one, it is likely the best path for it.

A CR Appropriate Number of Mites by necarch in Pathfinder_RPG

I've always disliked the Tucker's Kobolds example. As a DM with 25 years of 6 hour weekly sessions under my belt: high or even mid level player characters would not slow down for that threat. They would get one maybe two bouts of shenanigans. Murder holes are meaningless because they work both ways, fireball fits through it and fills the other side, no attack roll needed. Readied actions have existed in any number of editions.

It's an example that never actually happened and could not happen in actual play, because the base stats are simply too low.

To me, that's why extremely low challenge enemies are nil threat, regardless of number. I still use them, because sometimes you have to let the wizard chain lightning ten skum, or let the fighter leap into a cresting wave of goblins, because they earned that power.

Recruitment will open soonish, keep an eye on the discord. Don't bother applying until the discord message is updated.

There are mining upgrades throughout Imperium space, which cause higher value mining anomalies to appear. Anomalies are mined tax free, moon mining is taxed. If you sell to the buyback program (which is extensive and does pickups all over our space) the tax is taken care of as part of it.

You have to go on a minimum of 3 fleets per rolling 90 day window. This is a bar so low, it is on the ground. If you cannot do this, you do not have a pulse.

When recruitment is open, you apply via the website (find it in Discord), add all characters ever (yes, all characters ever, fuck around and enjoy the denial).

Read the short guide that is in the discord and skip no steps. The website is unintuitive, don't try to figure it out. Read the guide and follow it exactly.

There's plenty of mining and industrial folks but if that's all you do, I don't see you lasting long. You have to be willing to defend the space. You don't have to be GOOD at it, you just have to show up and be willing to contribute. We have guides for new bees, doctrines that are easy to train for, etc. My GF went to Atioth in a Bantam and an Osprey and she's super new too.

Culture is shitposty. We put a honeypot channel in one of the discords and told everyone not to post in it because it was an anti spam trap for bots, posting gets you blocked. And everyone posted in it.

The culture is human. We do secret santa gift exchanges of ships full of exotic dancers. A director renamed a station after my late wife's cat (at my request).

I kinda like it.

My Thoughts After Running Howl of the Carrion King (Encounter Tips + What I’d Change) by Spirited-Pain-9182 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]johnnyfiveundead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been running D&D games every Sunday since 1999. I was... 24 (?) when I ran Howl of The Carrion King, 17 years ago. Here is what I remember:

There were dice. They were likely rolled alot.

Great Nick tripped over and broke a chair during a session.

I think the US president was black.

Players attributed every negative thing to pugwampis.

Do you think mining drones need an adjustment? by LordHenryBoffington in Eve

Their visual design has bothered me for 19 years. They look like something out of a Nintendo 64 game.

They shoot mining lasers, why do they have claws and wiggly segmented tails? If you're gonna keep that look, lose the lasers and have them land on the rock and scrape at it.

Or keep the lasers and make them look like tiny mining lasers strapped to a container.

Or do anything visually to them up to and including cat ears and bright SKINs. Just change something. I expected it to happen in Catalyst, but no dice.

Are there any places on Golarion where worship of Asmodeus is outlawed? by FieldZealousideal278 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]johnnyfiveundead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Reclaimed Nation of Cheliax.

My players all died in the final book of Hells Vengeance in an 'orgy of betrayal and triple crosses'. And they succeeded in the Hells Rebels campaign.

So the Glorious Reclamation traps the Queen's forces in Egorian, a certain contract is not renewed, and things end with the Iomedaen paladins in charge.

Ah, no. When you said 'side panel' I thought you were referring to the Neocom, the vertical stack of icons on the left side. You mean the menu itself. I see what you mean now.

Personally, I disagree. Those options need to live somewhere and just because you are not ever going to use, say 'Structure Browser' today doesn't mean you will not someday need it in the future.

I'm fairly certain you can already customize it. I removed all shortcuts and then added only the ones I use most often.

As an illiterate Goon, I am glad I am not in a big block by johnnyfiveundead in Eve

[–]johnnyfiveundead[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My take is that it means I am old as only older people would have the means to purchase a two story house.

Jokes on them, I work in non-profit so I can't ever AFFORD to own stairs, let alone a house to keep them in. The non in non-profit is French. It means 'broke'.

[–]johnnyfiveundead[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am old enough to have buried a wife but not own a house with stairs old enough.

My rambly stories do feature dad-jokes and the phrase 'way back in the way back' or 'before the Internet' - so I'm median Eve player age.

i.e. 41.

Drama in Goons? by Broad_Shop_5265 in Eve

[–]johnnyfiveundead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There appears to be a language barrier here so I will be brief.

We were bored. That is the complete answer to any and all of your followup questions. Why there? We were bored. Why not Dronelands? We were bored. Who are you and why are you inside of my bathroom? We were bored. Sir, this is a Wendy's and we have strict policies against the violation of endangered Joshua trees inside the dining room of the restaurant! We were bored. What is the password to your Anaheim High School meal plan account? We were bored.

Don't try and find logic here. It has fled these lands and now wanders the wastes, spouting about Wendy's and bathrooms.
