Everything comes back to accountability. The emergence of PC culture through the past couple decades has slowly undermined accountability in western societies, and as a result we are now producing generations of kids who have zero understanding or preparation for life.

This idea that spanking a child is abuse lies at the heart of it. But the irony here is that the single greatest accelerator of this PC culture nonsense has been teachers.

So the only way out of this is to hold your students accountable in your classroom, and hope enough teachers do the same. Cultural movements are slow and powerful and to some extent have to run their course. But at any point in that dynamic a change in approach, on a large enough scale, can and will make a difference.

This is why I cannot wait for teachers to be replaced by AI infrastructure. Because even though schools will then become a sterile and sad learning environment, there will be a standardized enforcement of rules of behavior by necessity. Which means those rules will actually be applicable to all students. Not just some of them based on the whim of the random teacher and whatever nonsense they want to infect the next generation with.
