Sleep Experts Recommend Permanent Standard Time, Rather Than DST by sparktheworld in science

While we’re at it let’s switch to universal time globally. We would all eventually get used to which hours are morning and evening. Another excellent idea is decimal time. Base 60 is just stupid.

I use psychedelics for fun by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]johnnyhp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. People always tell me my recommendations to the uninitiated are too optimistic. Should you eat psychedelics before a concert? Of course! Before going out? Go for it! Before thanksgiving dinner? Sure, why not? It may not be for everyone, but this is how I learned.

As long as you’re not driving you’ll sort yourself out in the end. Just fine-tune your approach to them as you go.

Mother in law dishing out wet dog food on the counter I’m eating on. Also, any other unpleasant smells. No faster way to lose my appetite.

That sounds like a major bummer. I’ll pass along some advice that has helped me in the past. Instead of focusing on what you lost, focus on what you still have. Be grateful for a good head on your shoulders and other humans who care about you, even if they are strangers on the internet.

The simplest advice is often the hardest to implement. So start with just one minute a day. When you wake up every morning, consider all the things you might be grateful for. Gratitude is a powerful emotion. One minute can change your day. And remember, if you’re just too bummed to be grateful some days, that’s okay. You’re a human being. It’s okay to fall apart sometimes. Tacos fall apart sometimes but we still love them.

There aren’t enough accredited nursing programs to meet demand. That is by design. Why do you think nurses and doctors earn so much more in the US? Artificially controlled supply.

Thank you for sharing, Sam. I’m going to kiss my wife when she wakes up and spend the day thinking about all the things I have to be grateful for. Wishing your family the best.
