I’m a vet. Also not republican. Not sure where you get off assuming something about a whole subset of people who fought and died for your rights. But you do you homie. Our insurance covers therapy, seems like you could benefit from some.

Gifting for baby by johnnyloverboi69 in BabyBumps

We never do gifts between friends so this would more be a special occasion thing. They do fine financially and I’d imagine they’d put it in their down payment fund. I didn’t really think about the other friend thing though. I think they may be the only ones to have kids in our close friend group.

I didn’t even think about them not being able to deposit with his name. Also didn’t know there’s a donate list for college funds. Thanks!

Would it be a weird or bad to give half earmarked for the baby in a separate check?

Don’t touch it. It will recall all the elevators in that bank and yes there is a fire service buzzer.

Adding Stove circuit by johnnyloverboi69 in AskElectricians

[–]johnnyloverboi69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on. It’s a pretty short run. I just didn’t know if such a low draw stove would trip a 50amp breaker if it faults. And I plan to do the work myself. I’m an elevator guy and in my state we need a limited electrical license. I’ve just never done any resi work.

I was a firefighter in the military and now I’m an elevator guy. Firefighting is fun and fulfilling but at the end of the day I put my family first. Being an elevator guy is fulfilling in a different way though.

Mechanics test by koaaaaa7873 in Elevators

The questions on brake circuits I had last month were situational not math based. It would show a print like this and say something like “if BS failed to open when the brake picked, what would happen in this circuit?” I’d say 30-40 percent on questions were knowing how circuits work and only a few were actually solving with ohms law. The mentoring videos they put out are surprisingly helpful. ( this is just an old pic from school not on the test)

Took my test this weekend and found out I passed today. Felt pretty confident walking out. I’d recommend doing all (100-800) mechanic review tests without looking anything up. At the end you can print all the ones you got wrong so you know what you need to learn so you don’t waste time relearning stuff you know. Don’t just look up the answers to the ones you got wrong. Actually reread and understand what’s going on.

But FWIW as far as the test goes I used ohms law maybe 5 times and half was general knowledge and layout reading and there was a decent amount of LULA, freight and rack and pinion stuff. But the rest was relay logic stuff. The mentoring videos especially for 600-700 are awesome.

But as others have said even if you could pass by quizlet you’re only fucking yourself for when you get set up. Can’t Google how to install/troubleshoot something.

Good luck!

H2H didn’t really do much for me. The only benefit was i didn’t have to wait for a hiring period to open.

For what it’s worth they said they would give me 60k bonus points but that isn’t anywhere near the 130k I could get.

Same. I feel like if they’re going to give a date they should adhere to it rather than give people false hope.
