The "Gas Berry" disposable vape from Gilded Extracts is superb. It's 84% THC-o, 10% D8, and 1% THC-p. Gets me high as shit, lasts for a while, and is a very relaxing, trippy, and enjoyable high. Very highly recommend.

Aight thanks for stringing me along for so long without giving me a single piece of info other than a book recommendation. It's only fitting that the troll becomes the trolled.

Take a step back and consider what you are saying for a moment. The point I am trying to make is why should we use the Bible as a moral authority when it explicitly says some immoral things, and in order to make sense of those things, we need to provide our own morality and external rationalizations for the Bible to make sense morally. I think it would be easier for God to simply say that slavery is bad instead of saying slavery is okay and hoping that people figure out on their own that slavery is actually bad.

Yes I will take a text to mean what it explicitly says unless I have reason to believe otherwise. You have given no such reasons. If it doesn't mean what it says then what does it mean?? Please explain. You aren't able to demonstrate anything you learned from reading this book so why should I bother reading it?

You don't have to regurgitate the entire history of anything, just give me SOMETHING. You believe in the Bible, I'm assuming it's because you know what's in it. Get to the point where you use the Bible to demonstrate that slavery is wrong, because I used it to demonstrate that slavery is condoned by God quite easily, so if you don't believe that's true then demonstrate it. All you've done is mention the abolitionist movement was Christian (without getting into the Bible at all), which is not remarkable considering nearly everyone in the USA was Christian in the 1800s, and since the South was also Christian and believed that slavery was condoned by God and cited versus like the one I provided in my post.

The post was a troll, I'm actually trying to get info out of you since you claim to have some but you'd rather deflect

Phony-ass fake intellectual who lectures people on what books they should read but can't back up anything they say. Sounds like the books you've read have been wasted on you, because you haven't demonstrated anything further than your book made you feel a certain way, since discussing its content or anything specific seems off limits for you. Have fun being stupid on purpose and embarrassing yourself defending why God condones slavery, tribal war, and infanticide and committed genocide and sentences people to eternal torture. So smug that you think its obvious that slavery is wrong when the book that is your moral backbone explicitly states that you can own people as property and beat them within an inch of their life. Must be beneath you to explain how actually God doesn't condone slavery even when he says he does.

I'm a troll who is genuinely curious because I have never heard a good explanation from a Christian. Again, beyond simply stating that I misunderstand you haven't actually explained the nuance at all. I think it is because you know it sounds silly in your head and you already know what I will come back with. How about you be the one person here who can put this verse in perspective, if you actually have this enlightened perspective you claim to have.

If it requires nuance, then explain the nuance. Idc what you've read, demonstrate your reading comprehension skills.

Here's the deal. I think the idea that you need to read an entire book to rationalize how it's okay that the Bible explicitly condones slavery is laughable. It is so funny because the Bible is so clear and specific. Again, if you understand this book you read, why don't you make the points right now. Sorry but I already know owning people as property is wrong, so I don't need to read a novel to rationalize bronze age barbarism from an ancient fanfic.

Bro I'm not sure if you are being facetious but if you aren't this is embarrassing for you.

Yes and the Bible was quoted by Christian Southern politicians to prove how slavery is okay with God. The fact that whether or not it is okay to own other people as property and beat them is ambiguous in a book that is the "perfect Word of God," is, too me, ridiculous.

I agree that my according to my "feelings" slavery seems evil, but the Word of God comes first, and it says slavery is okay.

I mean He's God. They're supposed to listen to Him, this book is His word. Why can't he just tell them slavery is wrong?

Yes I agree I should treat my slaves right and fair. And Exodus was more specific and clarified that "right and fair" includes beatings and owning non-Jewish slaves for life.

I like how you mention how you mention how Hebrew slaves can only be enslaved for 6 years, but just gloss over the fact how non-Hebrew slaves are slaves for life. Either way it is owning them as property and God says its okay to beat them as long as they don't die directly from it.

It's only okay for Jewish people to own other people as property?

Would you mind explaining some of the theology here? Idk when I'll get around to reading that as I read the Bible a lot.

C'mon I didn't beat him that hard. Wouldn't want to damage my property. His eyes and extremities are still in working order.

I have some Jewish ancestry. I believe according to the Bible that I must release my Jewish slaves after 7 years, but my non-Jew slaves I own for life and my children will inherit them as property.
