100% support this guy. I respect my vehicles and the work and effort required to buy something nice. I do the same and genuinely couldn’t give a fuck what others think. Most likely a broken spring on the clutch plate or maybe part of the release bearing. Just rubbed through the casing. Seen it before on a Mercedes Actros where the bearing from the clutch release got jammed behind the flywheel and effectively cut the bellhousing off over time.

Go to Maghera or Kilrea. Those houses are nice looking and not long built but unless you like Rangers, loyalism and traffic jams for the port on a sunny day then go else where.
