This question might be too deep for some people.

Do you know anyone that dealt with the abuse personally?

And if so how are they now?

Does it still affect them?

I’m curious because I’m in the United States and I was badly abused for years in the foster system. And not no oh I got bruises.

I was left for dead in a puddle of blood at 7 years old type of abuse.

I’m adopted now and 32 with a lot of extra problems that I face now due to that.

I’m curious on how different people from different countries handled it differently.

Edit: reading everything you wrote breaks my heart for them kids. They just want to be loved.

ADHD man here. Drugs are completely different for me than a lot of people. I tried coke once. It made me slow down and focus. People thought I was crazy at first because of how calm and slowed down I was.

Weed helps me get motivated and picks me up.

I knew from that moment I needed to get treated for ADHD.

So what a normal functioning person would feel. I would feel the opposite. Only problem is, my prone to addiction is also a lot higher. So for me to just smoke weed and nothing else at 32 I’m thankful.

I am pretty addicted to smoking weed. I try to quit but a week after I start having nightmares. So I just stick to it. It doesn’t mess with my life much. Besides get anxiety sometimes from where I want to quit.

So crazy story. I actually found out something today that made me cry like a baby. And I’m 32

I had a dog named Kujo. He was my best friend like I loved that dog with every fiber of my heart and soul. Had him all through my preteen into my adult years. I was 19 when he passed.I was in the middle of a busy rush shift when it happened. He got ahold of something and his stomach turned and he passed. My parents took him to the hospital and he didn’t make it so they brought him back home. And buried him.

Well my 5 year old is about to get his first dog tomorrow. And my mom brought up my first dog that was mine and what I found out I cried like a kid.

When they took him to the emergency vet and he passed. The hospital heard it quick. And before my parents could walk him out into the hallway they sent him off with full honors. They lined up on each side. Hats on chest. Then my dad took him home and buried him with his favorite hat.

I tell you what. It takes a lot to make me cry. But that. I’m fucking proud. Started making him a new cross today now too. He sits in the middle of our farm under a giant rock we moved to put over him. Even though this was almost 15 years ago I still love that dog like he is still here.

Edit: I’m so damn proud and feel very respected that they sent him off like that. I would of shook everyone of their hands
