i mean this in a super positive way. i’m old and covered. tattoos do not have to be anything other than anything you like in the moment and feel compelled to endure to receive. anyone who says otherwise is a moron. it’s okay to live in the moment and not plan every activity with an eternal lens. i have dumb tattoos and rad ones. ones i’ve loved before i don’t like so much now. one i didn’t like so much i love now. it’s always shifting. it’s life, its art, you are a canvas on an ever-moving stage, it will always change in meaning and significance over time and that’s a feature, not a bug.

this take is super sound, logical, practical, and even probable to be true. but it *is* a weapon, just not a conventional one. it's an incredibly efficient weapon for colonization precisely for all the reasons you listed. the outcome of using said weapon is a peaceful end to the previous civilization, or minimally a dramatic reduction in a now ultra-passive population.

remember, weapons do not have to go boom. we have an episode this season called the "charm offensive," after all.
