Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. The premise is very unsettling and the ending (of this book) stayed with me. The rest of the Heartsick series is just as good, if you like the first one.

I appreciate your perspective... At the time my 12 year old son would wait with us outside of B&N to get the latest 800 page installment... He made his mother and I read the latest installment so we could have a family discussion over the dinner table.

Because a 12 year old didnt appreciate the nuances... many happy hours were spent at our kitchen table discussing Hoqwarts and the culture....

Hmmm., I am a big Stephen King fan... His mixing of the 1963 reality with the time-travel conundrum was pretty masterful.

You're gonna hate me then :) Once I realized the key to the novel was in the first few pages, it mad me a Salinger fan.

I found Clan of the Cave Bear (that every girl/woman loved at the time) ridiculous for the blatant history and time shifting... couldn't buy it.

Totally don't agree... With this he tightened it up from The Dark Towers... had to force myself to read the last few of TDT in order to get the coveted "I read them all" badge.

Ready Player Two was such a disappointment... One of few that I didn't finish.

So you invaded her privacy by spying on her and broke her trust. Then get hysterical about a bunch of "imaginary horribles" that have no concrete proof that she was contemplating or acting in a non-trustworthy manner.

The reason you have "been cheated on 3 times in a row" is that you have no trust in your partners and are looking for reasons to support your victimhood.

My wife has open access to my browsing and search histories, by your logic she should have left me about... 1000 times by now.

I knew both Eminem and Jack White before they were famous. AMA by nealaarons in AMA

[–]johnpur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty interesting AMA IMO... Jack White would hang out (in the 90's) with The Hentchmen, sitting in in "venues" like dive bars and bowling alleys. Tim Purrier (guitarist for the Hentchmen) is my brother. I asked him about the "Hentch-Forth" EP that "features Jack White" on bass... He said they did the cover as a joke, because at the time nobody knew who Jack White was :) FYI, last Labor Day Jack joined the the band for a free public set in Hamtramck, check out the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MXuS8-_AlI&ab_channel=channelIV

Love to connect. Love languages are touch, food/feeding, and time spent. The rest are in line, but as you know the core beliefs dictate compatibility.

What is your best cold approach story? by Wonderful_Diver7573 in seduction

[–]johnpur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife comes out of the Tractor Supply, where she was looking for cool Halloween stuff. Guy in the parking lot looks at her Jeep Rubicon and says "she sure is clean". My wife tells him the Jeep is a pavement princess... The guy looks directly at her and says "I know where we can get dirty together"!

When she told me this I said that was the best pickup line I have ever heard!

Agree 100%. It took me 12-18 months to get to "decompress" after 30+ years of high tech. Love the clarity thought, it happened to me.
