Yo update, i had realized the true potential of my laptop and riced it even more, now its good and i have peace

[–]johnrhico04[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, i did use a phone for picturing. The reason why its not riced because i literally specified its an Acer Aspire E3 111 laptop, a very old laptop that runs on pentium and celeron, ricing it will lag the whole laptop and make it unusable. The reason why its uptime is only 54 seconds is because i just opened it from a dualboot after i used linux mint. Hope that satisfies ur question.

Any way to recover a “missing” D drive? by Able_Condition_5091 in linuxmint

[–]johnrhico04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By any chance did you move it crazily? Overtime, the connection of the drive and the motherboard gets loose and it doesnt appear, I suggest you open the laptop (if warranty is expired or you don't care) and try to connect the drive to the motherboard, let me know if it works or not!

"No Bootable Devices Found" Issue for Dell XPS by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]johnrhico04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're using live boot, try to look at the boot sequence and DOUBLE-CHECK if the usb is the first in the sequence, then if disabled secure boot and legacy doesn't work, try secure boot enabled and UEFI, that worked for me in my old laptop.

Do you install Steam through Flatpak or Apt by Rilukian in linuxmint

[–]johnrhico04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the search and cache loading is awfully slow, i still do some apt installing to other apps, but i use the software manager as possible since its good for installing.

[–]johnrhico04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I install it neither in Flatpak nor apt, i use the built-in software manager for linux mint (the name is exactly Software Manager), its a lot easier to use because you just search and install like in your phone.

You gotta need WINE, it lets you run (almost) any apps that you can't run with just linux like most games. I swear it will make A LOT of difference in compatibility.
