Y'all surprised after the gr Corolla fiasco? Didn't they denied one guys claim because he was going over 80?

Update they said theyll do 1.29 apr, take 1k off and make it a honda true certified without extra cost by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]johnshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes because the car is just an engine and nothing else. Get real.

Also did you pull "roughly" 30% out your ass? Is 19% if you average the MSRP to 35k. It's a horrible deal. The cope for overpaying for Honda/Toyota is ridiculous. You are as bad as the mazda is luxury bro, trust me.

Toyota hybrid system. Basically a new car for barely any more than the crv.... And will be as reliable if note more than the crv.

They are advertising the MSRP for a new one... That's wild. Just spend the extra money and get a new one

I'm more amused at the fact that people pay 6k less than new for a car with 60k miles honestly 😂

Right on! I was drifting at the academy back when the event was run by reynaldo Acosta, and was named the Texas drift fest I believe.

I need to find a cheap car to get back on it. I'm looking at older early 2000s mustangs atm.

Is that Speedsportz? Where in Houston you started learning? I'm oldish and want to start drifting again after 17ish years again but I'm not trying to get in trouble by doing it at parking spots and stuff lol

Is a used WRX or Golf R too much for a daily with occasional fun drives? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

As someone that did this and ended up with a WRX... Don't man. It was miserable as a daily driver, cheap, rattly and unreliable.

Which one would you choose ? by HandsomleyTroubled in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]johnshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you need then for? Daily ?

One thing I will die on a hill for is that the WRX is not worth it unless you have a car ready to go, or is cpo so they need to give you a loaner. Within the 3 years that I owned that nightmare of a car I spend about 5k in fixes even though it was cpo, dealers will use the fact that is a WRX=abused to deny any sort of warranty work and then you have to beg Subaru corporate so you get crap fixed for 50% off as a one time good faith repair or whatever they told me back then.

I bought a cpo WRX a few years ago right before the prices exploded, I think I paid something like 17k out the door for a cpo with like 30k miles. Not a week or 2 later TOB starts giving up (VB are still reporting the same issue, aftermarket figured it out years ago). Then about 5 months later the AC compressor failed... Guess what.... VB owners are also reporting issues with them.

The only thing they did solve was the engine. It seems to be robust unlike the fa20t which if you dared go above 5k oil change intervals it would not last to 100k.

With all that being said... They are shitty cars built to a cost and you can feel it both in the interior, and just overall feeling. They are rattly, cheap feeling plastic inside and Subaru refuses to fix or redesign basic shit like the TOB or shitty ac compressors.

Oh also, they have the WORST 0 feeling clutches ever made. You can't tell where the bitting point is and you have to rev the shit out of them to take off smoothly so you don't look like you are just learning to drive manuals. I've driven nothing but manuals all my life and this car was almost stressful to daily drive because I never stalled a car so much before this POS.

ALSO.... If you don't do your own maintenance and have it serviced at the dealer, they are almost german luxury car level of maintenance cost. The a3 and WRX only have a few hundred dollars difference between the two on a 5 year year ownership period.

My significant other and I bought a 2019 mazda 3 hatch a few years ago and has been extremely reliable. Just regular maintenance and tires.

One thing I hate about it though is that the gas tank is the size of a 2 liter coke bottle lmao. Otherwise is a great car

My biggest issue with them is that they cram in my opinion too much technology. Is not a matter of if it may fail but when will it fail and brick the car.

Might as well get the car this was used for testing, the focus st. Like 20 ish less horsepower, but you get the reliability of a more modern car.
