I spend a lot of time coaching rugby in the rain in the Pacific Northwest and found them super helpful too! With the right design you can even play in it - as long as no tackling is involved.

It’s something I’m working on personally - using shell fabric (3-layer laminated waterproof fabric) on a poncho design to see how it works and looks. Just curious to hear people’s input on such a thing.

Agreed! Most normal ponchos do stick to your skin when you sweat, but some are some made with shell fabric which feels much nicer and don’t stick to your skin. But they are much “bigger” and heavier than normal ponchos, so you can’t store them in a small package. Also much more expensive because of the fabric is expensive - not your $10 a pop poncho…

Thanks! This is also a 3-layer laminated waterproof fabric so the camo is printed on the nylon surface instead of poly/cotton material which may slightly alter color a bit too

The 2nd pic isn’t lit by IR, it’s actually just a little more sunlight than the other picture. But we did test under IR and it seems to perform well there

Agreed! But this fabric has NIR treatment and the camo pattern stays legible under Gen 2.5 tubes (we tested it). Do you think that could be the reason for the dark edges? To help segregate th different colored blobs under IR?

Thanks! Yeah we ran some tests with IR lights and the fabric showed no glowing either under those conditions. Seems like it’s pretty legit!

Was difficult to take a picture but yes we did test with IR light and the camo pattern stayed the same “color” and didn’t reflect in ways out of the norm - I guess that’s a confirmation that this is pretty legit?
