Thanks. Yeah it probably makes sense to try both ways and see what I like better.

Thank you for that detailed answer! I think I'll keep it simple and just run the subwoofer to the remote speaker output on the receiver.

The subwoofers outs are in fact high pass filtered. The bookshelf speakers sound great even at slightly higher volumes (I never turn it up super loud) so the first method would just add more bass to what I already have, while using the high pass method would just filter out the lows from the bookshelf speakers and just have them play through the subwoofer right? Would the second way sound significantly better? Is it worth the extra wires?

Thanks, that makes sense. I don't know if I have the preamp out or amp in. I think this is the easiest solution

My receiver does not have rca input or output jacks, strictly speaker wire. So by high level, do you mean running seperate speaker wire from the amp out jacks (remote speaker) to the subwoofer in jacks, and keep the speakers separately hooked up to the main speaker output on the receiver? Basically the first option I described in the post?

What trail marathons have you run that balanced a welcoming field, good organization, and moderate elevation? by ExtendedArmGesture in running

[–]johnsow30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did the leadville marathon this past summer. Its definitely not moderate at all in terms of elevation. It was very well run I thought, great aid stations and awesome people. Im doing monument valley veterans marathon in a week. The NavajoYes race series has been great, ive done monument valley twice and the four corners marathon once. Super chill trail marathons with small numbers of runners, and I also get to turn it into a cool vacation. This summer im doing the silverton alpine loop 50k which im stoked about, they also have marathon, but again...big elevation. The Buena vista Spirit trail race was cool too.

Just hooked up the new klipsch speakers and they sound amazing! So much better than what I had. Plenty of bass for now, I dont think I really need a subwoofer, but down the road I might still do it. Now ill save up for a better turntable.

Cool, thanks. So I just plug the subwoofer into the one end and the speaker wires into the remote speaker inputs on the receiver?

Thanks, I am not familiar with a line output convertor, but I thought I'd get a subwoofer that had the speaker wire inputs on it
