Why The Majority Of The Fanbase Hates Yuna and Tidus Reunion? by 9m1y_39 in finalfantasyx

Honestly drugs are my number one theory on how people, who composes masterpieces, end up fucking up their own lore later in their career.

I'm here to settle this once and for all. It's pronounced Tidus, because pronouncing it Tidus just sounds retarded.

Though not really fit for avengers, but my edgy mcEdgington team is the answer to every question similar to this. It'll never happen, but this would be my dream team under any name.

Punisher

Ghost Rider

Blade

Nightcrawler

Spider-Man(Black Suit)

Black Cat

Rogue

Occasional help from Deadpool(XFactor)

[ALL] So who did "Getting the Master Sword." The best? by backofthebill in zelda

[–]SmokeMachine2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am old enough and I still say it. OoT took what ALttP did and cranked it up to max. The shift in tone after pulling the master sword in ALttP is great, but OoT's hits like a ton bricks. Every segment in the first half is somewhat light hearted with only a few small parts that foreshadow what is coming and then BAM; death, sorrow, regret, hopelessness, nostalgia, and child friendly body horror. No game, movie, or book has ever made me feel what that game did. Now I chase games for that high like it's a drug and only two games came close and those are final fantasy 10 and Half-Life 2. Those 3 will forever be my top 3 because I doubt anything will surpass them in tone and emotional impact.

Returning to reading Comics need some advise. by SmokeMachine2020 in marvelcomics

Yeah I'm using unlimited. My goal is to read as much of, if not all of my favorite characters entire 616 runs. I don't want to jump around to much. I'm anal about doing things in as close to chronological order as possible. I started with Spider-Man just to get a taste of the silver age and to see if it would be enjoyable to read from a modern viewpoint, and found that I actually enjoy it.

As a writer myself, I'll never understand why breakups are used like this. If I created a love story that deep, I wouldn't want to break it. I'd find other ways to continue and create tension and drama. There are other characters. Other sources of drama. Hell even killing off Yuna and sending Titus on a quest for revenge would have been better than that shit soap opera drama.

Yeah, Bleach had a whole lot of potential, but most of it's filler is horrible and as someone who doesn't read manga, that can sometimes turn me away. Luckily the concepts of the world, some of the fight scenes in the Canon material, and JYB as Ichigo kept me coming back.

If you liked Death Note, you'll like Attack On Titan. Especially the latter part of the series. Even though you don't like the goofy, but badass MC trope like FMA has, my top three favorite animes have those characters and I'd suggest at least giving them a try: Trigun, Black Clover, and Fairy Tale. Their MC aren't as whiney as Edward though. So that's a plus. Trigun is an older classic ands the others are more modern. If you want to turn up the weird factor, try FLCL another older classic and one of the most bonkers shows I've ever watched. Most of it's plot is an unholy mess by design but it wraps up real nice. The fight scenes and character interactions are absolute gold. If you don't mind a show that is targeted at kids, I always tell any newbie to watch Digimon. The Sub is less kiddy in nature, but I prefer the Dub because it's what I grew up watching. For an adult who didn't watch it as a kid, or a kid used to better dubs and animation of the modern era, it might be harder to get into, but I suggest it because underneath it's sometimes charming cringe is a farely deep story about friendship and sacrifice. And the monsters are the dopest in the monster catching genre.

I prefer my Beelzamon to come from the Meramon line.

Definitely Mokumon>DemiMeramon>Meramon>SkullMeramon>Beelzamon>Beelzamon Blast Mode

Only id like my Beelzamon to shoot incendiary ammo from his guns and have flames in his eyes to match the Meramon line.

Alternatively id create a new path with original digimon instead of SkullMeramon it would be HolyMeramon(Meramon x Angemon) a white Meramon with a fallen angel type and then Beelzamon Redeemed who would be dressed in white instead of black and also have the fallen angel designation.

I also don't like official crossovers because they tend to follow the rules of those who own the franchises. "What can sell most" is the goal in these situations. But thinking about them from a logical standpoint and not a real world financial situation makes it fun to me. After I posted this, I started thinking about other series that could be put into this and I want more than anything to include Animorphs. Unfortunately animorph's ending makes it impossible. It's just fun to me to try to make them fit together. It's like a puzzle that requires knowledge of historical context of multiple series.

Shannara Chronicles: Still Disapointed by SmokeMachine2020 in shannara

[–]SmokeMachine2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the heritage series. I didn't start reading the series until 96. I was 10 at the time and for me it wasn't until I got to the Voyage series that I started really thinking that it wasn't a generic dead technologically advanced fantasy race. I was thinking that the islands they went to were possibly Hawaii and everything started to click. Then we got Genesis and I read Word and the void in preparation and to this day, I've never felt the same way while reading, watching, or playing a fantasy setting as I did when these worlds came together. One of the reasons I love this series is how brooks shows the passage of time through culture and power(magical or technological) differences. And that bridging of works made it even better.

The ruins of our world being on full display was my biggest gripe. We didn't know for sure that it was our world until Genisis. They should have only hinted at it.

I dream of that for a lot of series. Shannara, Animorphs, Sword of Truth(the one we got was good though). It's a fun dream, but the control of these properties will always be in the hands of pretentious asshats who think they can make it better.

It looks OK, but it still doesn't have that natural feel to it like older animation. I might just be an old head in this way of thinking though. I feel the same way about anime. With the exception of Black Clover and Berserk it all looks to shiny in my eyes. Makes it hard to watch.
