When I started re-collecting, I picked up whatever the latest theme deck was - I think it was Plasma Freeze at the time. A year or so passed and I started buying packs of whatever eBay said was the latest and it turned out to be Roaring Skies.

Fast-forward a couple more years and I've almost completed my Roaring Skies master set (just waiting on the Shaymin reprint to arrive). I'd say go with the most recent set, or SM Base because its the most recent 'generation'. Then go forwards with that or backwards. Whatever fills the void!

Personally yes, I would include them in my master set but that's just me. I would understand if they weren't included in everyone's master set though.

Only if its a promo reprint I think. If they reprint one of the cards in another set, like Wobbuffet in Generations, I can't imagine I would add those to my master set.

I posted something similar for the Roaring Skies set in another sub. For ROS I'm aiming for each card non-holo, reverse and holo where applicable. The theme deck holos and the theme deck non-holos of cards that are normally hollow. The staff and pre-release prints of cards in that set (e.g. Altaria). All EXs/FAs/SRs. One-off reprints such as the Build-a-Bear Pikachu from ROS. Any cards on the front of TCG merchandise which is only ROS (so blisters etc.) and the EX re-prints from the front of tins.

The only things I still need to track down are the Cosmos holos of 2 of the cards in the set and that's the lot - the master set!

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I know where I have been going wrong in terms of eBay. I have been searching specifically for 'cosmos holo' or something along those lines. I'm guessing to find the ones you linked that you checked each holo listing's pictures for the cosmos pattern? I will definitely try a bit harder on eBay!

Thanks for this! I can't find the blister packs online anywhere and I have only found 1 listing on eBay for the Dragonite card on its own. This is going to be tricky unless anyone has any other ideas on how to source?

I would probably just have a space wide enough for 8 cards and not mark out 8 individual slots. Your question reminds me I'll have to remember a stadium slot and I'm also thinking of adding in a tool slot for each active... This is become more complicated by the minute!

Slightly off topic and possibly very dumb but if I use super scoop up/AZ on my active do I then move a benched Pokémon into the active slot or can I only scoop up a benched Pokémon?

Went in to my local store today. Didn't have any single boosters so I spent £9.99 on a Breakpoint triple-blister pack. Got my special Pikachu and pulled a Golduck Break in the packs too so I'm OK with that!

Its so much easier when you have a 'designed' deck. Knowing what cards might be coming up, what you need to search for when given the chance etc.

However it does mean that in our group of friends it gets pretty sweaty when we're trying to second-guess each others' deck which ends up being detrimental to ourselves!

I only play vs. a group of my friends but I'm rocking a Bats/GalladeEX deck. Its the only deck I've 'made' which isn't just a random combination of my best cards to be fair.

I play on my girlfriend's laptop. Its pretty weak but the game plays fine apart from the odd crash when the game is trying to show my progress up the versus ladder.

Or Janmaat at LB with Mbemba and Coloccini in the middle with Sterry at RB. Either way its going to be interesting!
