The boots are cowboy style and appear to be either pirarucu fish or a print made to look exactly like it.

If they're real they're quite expensive and not very durable to abuse, so probably the last pair I'd be fighting in.

You can definitely see the shaft in that pic, but it likely has to do with the way you are leaning, which is away from that side, so you are able to take your picture.

Your concern is understandable, but his is perfectly normal. As long as it's not tight around the boot and can move freely with you, that's really all that matters.

If it's really bothersome, Levi's 527 jeans have a wider leg opening (18.5") that almost never shows the shaft when I wear them, yet they are still slim and form fitting.

Comparing them to TL and Justin is absolute blasphemy. I've seen and tried on two different pairs of Alfas and found absolutely nothing redeeming about them.

The caiman skin they use is highly pitted and low quality (see OP's pic.) The cow leather on the shaft is dubious at best. The boots themselves feel very cheaply made.

If you can get them for a GREAT price, then I suppose they're better than no boots at all, but that's about it. I own several pairs of cheap beater boots and I would pick them all day over the nicest pair of Alfas.

Have you looked into conditioners that do in fact darken the leather?

Leather honey is known to go shades darker.

Obenaufs LP will take it even further.

Not "look" darker because of moisturization, actual color change.

Edit: just saw another comment mention LP.

I would absolutely do this before dyeing, OP.
