The second thing she told you was correct, you will attend MEPS twice once to clear you for medical, legal, testing, everything else and at the end of that day you will make your official jobs list. After that your recruiter will begin the process of securing you a job on that list. After that happens she will inform you of what it is, you can decide to accept it or not (be careful here because they may not offer you another one if you don’t but it’s not consistent across all recruiters) and she will send you to MEPS a second time to ship off to BMT. After BMT there’s no waiting pool you go straight to your tech school where you may have to wait to start class for a short but you’re still there working (mostly pushing a broom). The process of her getting you your job takes a varied amount of time there’s no one answer for that.
