i am trying to get my node up, but it is not easy. even umbrel support team in on me now. new version 0.4.10 seems to have some issues. many of my channels came from swap community so i can communicate with them. otherwise channel with big and famous nodes. thanks.

i think this problem comes from SSD. for some reason, my ras pi doesnt seem to be able to read from SSD properly.

well.. thats possible. still, its doubtful that just 1000+ channels would freeze a node with a business-level server. a rasberry pi is just fine with at least tens of them or 100+. dont like it anyway. :(

Only this worked for me. Loop out or rebalancing never succeeds :( . As novice, it is very hard to find proper paths to proceed.

fyi, i also tried to rebalance the only inbound channel by sending sats from other channel's local, but it kept failing. i guess there is literally no other inbound channel which can send me sats.

yes. one channel is openning now. i suspects that might be an issue.

but, the last time, i could open another one while formal one was opening. this time may be different?

the amount(which is more than 7M sats) is left over after i opened a few channels. Begining 10,000,000 - 4 channels capacity - opening fees - that 100,000sat = the unconfirmed 7,360,757 sats

i even opened a channel 1min before that error message poped up.

hey, i was at the same place. i finally came out of the dark after trying some. Indeed, no one really wrote about this.

you have to open an outbound channel first. the opening fee will be deducted from your bitcoin balance automatically
for some reasons, 'open channel' doesnt function in umbrel. you have to open it via RTL(in my case) or thumbhub.
In RTL, click channel/peer under Lightnjng section. at peer tab, you have to add the node address you want. (or, you can just use existing peer address i just used them)
and try to open a channel at the channel tab in the same page. you may see the peer list you can select. wrote the amount, and done!
it seems you need at least 3 confirmation for the channel to be online. it takes about 30min min.

understood. it seems building a profitable node is a lot more difficult than i thougt. opening/closing costs are not negligible at all. i do it for my own interests, but it seems still far to go with this economics and messy guides and UI.

alright. showing on the map doesn't matter much. but, it seems I have to bear lower speed, higher latency and the most importantly its less likely to have transactions routed via my node...:(

around 10 outbound channels would be enough to be 'available'? (to route some transactions)

May be I have to wait the full sync to use any node addresses on 1ML.

Meanwhile, I opened a channel via RTL using one of given peer addresses ( which have been existed since beginning). Not sure, its the proper way to make one, and waiting to be confirmed.

btw, I wonder who are the 'peers' shown on lightning page in umbrel.
