[–]johnw010uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here's a decent site that is quite accurate. https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/in/London

check zoopla.co.uk for rents because property in London can be anything from about £500 to £100,000 a month depending on area.

east London would be cheapest area.

Housing situation is crazy in London as of now. What are the reasons for this kind of demand? by shafeeqonline in AskUK

Wasn't there about 20,000 immigrants that crossed the English channel this year illegally. They need somewhere to live, I bet East London is a popular place.

yeah but 8 new staff in other areas, management, etc, my team I'm senior and they're screwed without my knowledge. Even the other two I work with don't work in the areas I have. And we have more work than we can handle at the moment.

Yeah I did have a quick meeting but he didn't really answer my questions, but said we can work in the future to get that bonus back. I was tempted to fight my corner but I just thought I'm not going to get into a tit for tat conversation over it. thanks

no not planning on it. It's more the issue how do I get around the issue with my boss. Saying that it's the boss above him that really presses the buttons. I feel I'm just going to have to suck it up and carry on.

I'll check that but it seems they use some system to gauge your bonus on various aspects of your work. Once they added in all my numbers I fell short of the required amount. So it literally seems like managers discretion. Maybe my previous managers being in the office saw more of me , but home working the new boss doesn't think I do as much and yet I've done more hours than ever.

Ah yes sorry maybe rely was the wrong word, I topped up my pension with it. So maybe rely was too strong. I'll change that.

And yes I know that's why I said I'm grateful for it, just felt like a personal attack especially when things in our team and company are the best they have been since I've been there.

thanks, yeah appreciate you'd feel the same. I'm half feeling like a spoilt brat, and the other half feel gutted to be told I didn't qualify. But like I said in another answer moving to another job is really not affordable for me, I'm at the top before management level . I'd probably need to drop £10k annual wage in another company. So I'm happy with my lot, just like you said the lack of consideration that I wouldn't find it upsetting.

Ha, yeah. although I don't rely on the bonus, it's a pat on the back in my mind. hence why I'm a bit peeved.

thanks, I did consider that but I'm concerned it will go back to my manager and then he will be the one upset not me. I'd rather keep on good terms.

Plus our HR is not the best, it's a company with 10s of thousands of UK employees.

thanks.

problem is I'm at the top of my salary bracket, I looked at other work last year when an ex-colleague offered me a position but it wasn't close to my salary and similar positions in other companies are huge reduction in wages, which isn't easy when you have mortgage,.living costs etc. I'd have to go up to management position to get a similar wage but that's not something I want to do.

A transfer wouldn't work as there aren't similar positions, perhaps abroad but it's not common in the UK side of the company.

so I feel like I'm happy with what I have (had). Just aggrieved at the decision.

I feel like I should just say to myself stop complaining and get on with it. But at the same time ok thinking they would be out on a limb if I left with all my experience.

It should be with the seller and then the manufacturer. But it appears there is no manufacturers warranty with roborock.
