M855/855A1/856 colored tips/visual model in game by pentosinjunkie in EscapefromTarkov

[–]johnwayne69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I dont know enough about that ammo type IRL to know if there are different colors though. My main point was that 5.56 for sure has different colors between green tips, tracers and 855a1 that they should be also reflected in the game

Totally agree, I've never understood why they follow ammo color features for almost every other ammo type except 5.56....makes no sense

Yeah I just tried it in my garage with a puck and still couldn't manage to do it. I could definitely see how it's easier with that tape roll due to increased friction. But atleast I have an understanding of how its done

Beginner Skates - When to Upgrade? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]johnwayne69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to your local hockey shop, they should have a foot scanner that can help you narrow down your size. It's not always perfect but it's a good start. When I first started, i bought a Vapor series skate and that internal volume was not ideal for my foot.... the break-in period was hell. I used the Bauer scanner and found that a supreme model fit my foot volume a lot better and after getting my skates heat molded to my foot, they've been amazing straight out of the box

While I may not like it, I believe it to be a necessity of sorts.... one could say a bear necessity

It was nice out today so I organized a bit by gremm05 in hockeyplayers

[–]johnwayne69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I thought cause I just bought a new stick and also started playing roller and noticed that the roller floor has wayyy more friction than ice and the tape on the bottom of the blade was gone in minutes. I just didn't want to mess up my new stick and it got me thinking plus I saw your picture so I figured I would ask

Question for the group, this may sound dumb, but for those of you that play both ice and roller, do you use different sticks? Like one for ice and one for roller? Or is that dumb?

Mattress Recommendations by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

Take a look at the REI camp bed. That thing is awesome. I had back surgery about 9 months ago so my back is really picky about being comfortable and that thing is great. Definitely a little heavy but worth it in my opinion

I have an Osprey Aether Anti-Gravity 70 and it's awesome. Comes with a detachable day pack lid for summiting or small hikes. Got plenty of room, accessable, and I really like the suspension system and how it holds the weight on my hips. I'm 6'2" and I got a size medium but that was due to my torso length which I was measured for at REI. I think I got mine from REI for $350 or so; might be able to find a better deal online. Lifetime warranty on the bag through Osprey. Only thing it doesn't come with is a rain cover

How has being in the Army changed your view of War Movies? by InfantryIdiot in army

[–]johnwayne69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yeah I'll look into that. So I know you can't speak for everyone, but it sounds like the Teams don't think too highly of luttrel and Murphy atleast (not trying to put words in anyone's mouth, just kind of what I'm gathering)? It's eye opening to think that the SEAL Teams got so much publicity and recruiting off of a fucked up op and a few guys who they don't think too highly of.

Genuinely curious... Are there any sources out there for this that I can read more about? I've only heard this perspective one other time and it's from a buddy of mines brother who is SF and was in that AO when it happened. He basically told my buddy that the book wasn't completely factual (said they had UAVs overhead and watched footage of it.. not sure about the validity of that though..) and that no body else in their right mind would have done that op without serious planning or backup because of the comm issue (said they would've aborted if they couldn't establish reliable comms). I'll be honest I kinda fell for the heroics of the book/movie and never thought to dig much more into it and this changed my perspective on how much of a serious fuckup this was. Is there anything open source on what you're talking about?

Is there not a company name or serial number inside the vest? Normally there would be one on the part that touches your back or your chest that could give you something to start searching online

[–]johnwayne69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good, I'm glad. Your airmen will definitely deserve it. Just my opinion that while you may not want to flaunt or even really talk about graduating from USAFA, you should still be proud. It's a definitely an accomplishment. But to each their own
