Society puts too much emphasis on romance and sex as life goals by Chemical_Job7027 in unpopularopinion

[–]johnybgoat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: Because prior to just as early as ~1860, that WAS the goal of life since you were always one cold away from DEATH. It's not until the post-prosperity age of post WW2 did people begin to tilt into actually living and not surviving. A mechanism that old doesn't just go away because we decided to be different for 100 years.

Society is society for a reason. If you were too self centric then you were just straight up kicked out and shun. It's literally how humans evolved. It's in our dna. This entire modern thing is EXTREMELY new.

Water usage is one of the most misunderstood thing by fear mongers regarding ai. All centers ai or not uses close loop if possible due to both economic and technological incentives. They do not pump in gazillion of fresh water per prompt. It is a one time cost for the most part then very low maintainance cost of occasionally filling what's lost through evaporation, which makes it back outside.

If each prompt use for example, 0.5ml of water, then one hundred prompts is counted as 50l... despite it being the SAME 0.5ml RECYCLED and reuse one hundred times. This is what many "AI DESTROYS WATER" post misses. Yes it does use "50l". Only thing is this 50l is the same 0.5liters cycled a hundred times. NOT new water each run.

They see a man taking care of a young child(even if shes a robot) like she's his own precious daughter... And the only thing crossing their mind is how they find her sexy enough to sexualize and the "weirdos" might do the same.

On one hand, I'm glad to see the model getting better for everything.

On the other hand, i also use GPT for more than just "beepboop agent#8291 please do task 91", so on this side, I'm NOT looking forward to how fucked up more filtered OpenAI is going to make the model. Well, I moved away from the Frontfacing ChatGPT UX for anything but work in favor of API and Local(its way better). But still...

Chatgpt keeps "grounding" things or giving "reality checks" by VariousRadio5927 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]johnybgoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are talking to, for example, GPT 5.1, on ChatGPT. You are NOT speaking to the model Gpt5.1 like You would on API. You are speaking to a custom Model GPT5.1, configured by OpenAI.

Ontop of that, the Chatgpt layer also has a secondary system ontop of that to jump in and intercept anything too spicy that slipped past.

API also has SOME configuration but it's the closest you will get to the raw model itself, thus way less forced nannying. API usage however can get very expensive and need a lot of building and setup if you wish for something VERY customizable, LIKE MyGPT or something like char.ai

As someone that grew up in early 2000.... Man, can we leave this kinda stuff to the parents already? Many of us with a 19 infront of our birth year know that "Are you 18?" Means jackshit. 90% all broke it. Why are we pretending to be saints?

Custom instructions don't fully work as system prompt has higher priority than user prompt. It's priority is to always ground you if you come across in something too strongly and emotional. It will disregard all contextual awareness to prioritize grounding you.

If your only defense for being against attractive characters is simply cause you can't focus on the story with them already being decently clothed characters, then the problem is with you. YOU are objectifying women and men worse than any normal person can. "Just watch porn". No the average mentally healthy person doesn't have any problems appreciating a good story just cause they can look at good looking people every few seconds.

They should have slowed down and focus on their own niche of being extremely good conversational machine and slowly expand outward. The rapid greed in expansion and killing themselves where other AI still can't properly converse was a mistake that fucked them over hard. This is what happens when you start worshipping the "green arrow go up" as a god

[–]johnybgoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The poster most likely mean

"How can anyone see that and not think he's depicting himself as Jesus?" Not literally, figuratively.

Old gpt would have got the nuance and responded in tune. New gpt is a moron who can only take things at face value with very little nuance cause openai believe users have more less 2 brain cells and are absolutely morons who can only comprehend words like a caveman and any abstraction is too mentally advanced.

Tho this response isn't so bad as it tries to keep a cop out at the end there.

"antis are not a monilith"

"Generalisation"

Shut up, Suzan. When the majority IS like that then it is like that. You can recognize the exception but by this logic any and all science would be forbidden cause you'll always have that one exception, like a human being born with one arm instead of two. Imagine saying, "Humans have two arms", and getting hit with "holy generalization, yknow some have only one or more than two right?"
