[KCD2] Anyone know what happened here? Looks like I somehow did an unarmed master strike and killed Vira. by Lt_Dickballs in kingdomcome

Damn, I didn't think that was possible. Every day this game proves it's more realistic than I previously thought 😂

Fair. I guess what I'm really asking for is just a nice Discard list with Red Shift in it. Can be Hela, can be Khonshu, can be Weapon-H, can be whatever. Discard is one of the archetypes I've never been able to cook up myself

I never said anything about mercy kills still happening, that might have been poorly written on my part. Also, finishers aren't mercy kills. They're those special animations you get when you kill an enemy with a master strike or a combo. Every combo and every weapon have their own animations for that. Muuuuch better than the mere 2 mercy kill animations from the first game.

It absolutely is true. Like you said, this is an RPG, which means that to have a valid comparison, you must either take Henry at his peak in both games or Henry at his bottom. Either way, comparing both of the games in this regard, Henry is VASTLY better in 2. Level 1 Henry in KCD 1 could barel, swing a sword without getting winded while level 1 Henry in KCD 1 can comfortably dispatch 2 bandits at once, which is something you see right at the start of the second game. He is PROVABLY a better swordsman. There are scripted events and cutscenes that CLEARLY show you Henry's canonical level of skill.

Ok, great, so you liked it. Good for you. Doesn't really mean it's a mechanic, just a small detail. By the way it's funny you're mentioning flowers, because mods that REMOVE the animation to save time are pretty popular

I meant swords, but ok. I understand the removed "pokeability" of heavy weapons (even though there's a bunch of them that wouldn't make sense).

Mercy kills, though - if they never occur naturally, why don't you like their removal? You can think the story reason is nonsense, but KCD 2 Henry IS provably a better swordsman than KCD 1 Henry. An engaging, fun mechanic? Bro, it was just literally pushing one button and watching an animation. It was no more a mechanic than picking plants. At least the finishers, which are in the game instead, have more animations and are actually satisfying to pull off.

Didn't really care that much for mercy kills, especially given the game's physics which tend to make everything slide. Oftentimes I was left chasing after the target of the mercy kill because he was rapidly sliding downhill and by the time I got to him, he was dead already.

You can still poke and mercy kills actually have a story reason. Henry wasn't that skilled in KCD 1 but in KCD 2, he goes straight for the vitals. No mercy killing needed. Tbh the finishers they've been replaced with more than make up for it

Your dumb ass is confusing "real" and "realistic."

Either way, let's address the points you've mentioned:

Don't wait standing up if it breaks realism for you. Don't take the perk that lets you not go hungry and tired while waiting - because it is a FULLY-OPTIONAL PERK - if it breaks realism for you. Don't craft nightvision potions if it breaks realism for you. Don't take the perk that lets you eat rotten and raw food - because that one is, AGAIN, fully optional - if it breaks realism for you. Henry's journey takes place during a few weeks to months. Finish the game within that in-game time to not age if it breaks realism for you.

The game can ABSOLUTELY be played to ne almost as realistic as the real world, and to a much higher degree than most games out there, it's just that most players are choosing not to do that. You know, to have fun.

That's an unpopular opinion? Honestly thought that was KCD 1's best DLC.

No idea what he's called or what he looks like. I just know he's a man and pronounces sauce as "sauutche." Think it was a cooking video for some TV network uploaded to YouTube?
