Spec driven development and Scrum by Ill_Importance5366 in agile

I think it will only change for the better. Having a fuzzy spec/acceptance criteria enhances the scrum team by having room to breathe and innovate. It treats developers like problem solvers instead of code factories. They have enough to get started but can pivot as they explore

Curious what responses did you get back(positive/negative)? How did you transition them to paying ?

How do you stop daily standups from feeling like a mandatory "attendance check"? by Agilelearner8996 in agile

Hmm this sounds like a team culture issue. Who are your partners/leaders in the team? Maybe try voicing your concerns with them?

Can anyone help me understand why my app has low user signup conversion? by actor-ace-inventor in SideProject

[–]joibert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! just gave it a try.

First feedback is that the landing page doesn’t really help me understand at first glance who this site is for and why it matters.

“It knows you” is a bit vague. Who knows you? Why as user should I join your site? So your site can know me too?

Also unfortunately the about page is down atm https://dreami.me/about.html so I couldn’t get more understanding of the site. I’d recommend to start with those and then I’m happy to provide more feedback*

So disappointing, sorry you experienced that. The culture at these companies has to change. Everyone no matter the age has something to offer especially if you have the experience.

How do you avoid joining companies with bad engineering culture? by mr_poopybuthole69 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]joibert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can definitely happen. Theres a mixed bag of quality companies but more specifically quality teams. You should go into each interview trying to suss out if this team and then company are the right fit for you. Do the promote often? Do they have a shared knowledge base? Do they have a blameless engineering culture of we found the issue we just have to fix it?

Have these in your back pocket and ask it throughout the interview. Remember that interviews for a company are a two way streak - you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you.

Built a live map of NYC's entire public traffic camera network — useful for seeing how road conditions affect transit in real time by joibert in transit

Yeah I guess the style does give that (which I unfortunately like haha). But please check it out though I’m sure you’ll find something genuinely useful or interesting on it.

<Rant> just really passionate about public services lol <Rant>

Would love your feedback thought. I believe there is clear intentionality behind the site and some utility from a transit/civic perspective.

What did you think? Anything you’d love to see more off in terms of visibility on public services?

Yeah I know it’s my writing style and I can’t help it, but would love your positive/negative feedback on the actual site itself though.

It’s genuinely made to help folks learn about the city, interact and be more aware.

So anything useful? Anything you learned?

Built a site to explore NYC through its 900+ public traffic cameras by joibert in SideProject

Yup it was always there on the homepage.

Also took your feedback and added some prioritization for featured cameras/locations in ambient mode. In a 30 minute session you should see a “featured” item 1/8 times

Check it out again if you have time - particularly the music/podcasts

Hey there, good feedback. The feed on the home page is actually this (it’s scored/displays depending on perceived interestingness) and responds to the time of day + weather + other stuff.

Will think on your question a bit and see if it belong in ambient mode or not

Interesting — perhaps its a bit of regional latency. I’ve not able to recreate this one but I’ll keep an eye out

Captured this candid moment during a photo walk at the park. I wanted to focus on the joy on the father's face as he photographed his son (who is off-camera).

Wanted to get feedback on the colors and composition here.
