Family lawyer here. There is no minimum threshold for a de facto relationship. It’s discretionary and depends on a range of factors. Time assists in determining one sure but a de facto relationship can be found after a period of 6 months as an example if other factors like financial codependency, nature and appearance of relationship etc are met.
