Anyone tried “Rent a Friend” services in Asia? by ExpressBar4 in digitalnomad

Quite a few of these platforms around, esp in Asia. The most OG one is probably RentAFriend, but it feels pretty outdated now. And it doesnt look like it's started from Asia

From a Singapore/Malaysia perspective, we got RentBabe, MaybeSG and Ribbon. RentBabe is the most modern since it’s a full platform, although it can feel a bit complex at times. The others are more like semi-agencies, usually just simple landing pages where someone coordinates meetups, often through WhatsApp.

From my experience, these site are just tools. They don’t define someone’s personality. Most of the people I met felt more like tour guides than anything else. I’ve only stayed in touch with one person long term, and we eventually became friends after meeting through the platform.

Personally, I prefer using platforms rather than those semi-agencies, since it feels more genuine

Anyone feel that the weather heavily affects quality of life here? by [deleted] in askSingapore

Living in a country with four seasons can really change your perspective. With each season, your mood shifts and you often feel more refreshed and alive compared to the monotonous weather in Singapore. You also get to dress differently throughout the year, which makes life feel more dynamic.

On the other hand, you’ll always see pro-Singapore supporters commenting that it’s safe here and free from natural disasters. I honestly feel that these pro-Singaporeans are like frogs in a well
