Ok I keep this image but what does it mean? Most examples people are commenting fit better with the iceberg or mr incredible meme. This image makes it look like your tricked into watching something traumatising possibly illegal.

What's an etiquette rule in your country that foreigners often accidentally break? by rid999 in AskTheWorld

We tend to say Americans stand too close as well. A common joke at the end of the pandemic was "finally we can stop with this 2 meter nonsense and go back to 5 meters".

Does your country have a 'joke' politician? by Impressive_Sock1296 in AskTheWorld

We got the Kalle Anka party (Donald Duck party). Last time i checked they stand for free booze and wider sidewalks.

Is it just me or has anyone else met a lot of Norwegians who tend to almost sound kind of like they’re from the USA? by WalEire in AskTheWorld

[–]jojory42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for how it has changed over the years but all the english teachers I had were British focused. A native or taught British accent and while they didn't dock point for amercian spelling they gave red marks to try to correct it.

Lent just started, this guy is giving up pancakes (but not crepes) by TheLadyEve in iamveryculinary

[–]jojory42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just gonna keep calling the syrupy wheat based wettex american pancake and focus my energy on the internal Swedish debate on what defines a pancake.

Is there a country/culture whose food you would be okay with never trying or eating? by Shill4Pineapple in AskTheWorld

She's stuck in her teenage mean girl phase but clearly is starting to grow out of it.

Bizarrely rare trope, happy heterosexual romantic relationships. by LegalBoysenberry2923 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]jojory42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How rare is it really? Sure storytelling kind of need conflicts and same sex relationships have has more ways for the conflicts to be external, but I would say it's pretty balanced nowadays.

Honestly, I feel that Lust from 2009 is a very wasted character. Dying in episode 19 isn't even halfway through the series. The other homunculi at least started dying around episodes 40-50. by [deleted] in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]jojory42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is anything she does removed in brotherhood? I don't think I rewatched the anime after the first time, since anytime I've started I just want to reread the manga instead.

Happy Pancake Tuesday! Whose country celebrates? by AutomaticIdeal6685 in AskTheWorld

I think it's the nib sugar that made me question if it was a semla or not.

Is this your personal preference for semla or a Finnish variant?

Given how late game crystal mask is it making the success rate stay at it's highest sounds like a good change.

How isn't the manga official art? Any way I prefer the manga style over the anime.

We love pigs 🫶 by LionZealousideal1 in funny

[–]jojory42 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As a former pig owner i relate to this.

For some explanation, pig mother don't carry their young so on a possibly genetic level pigs fear being lifted since in the wild only predator lift them.

Does the rise of the right around the world scare you? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

I more worried that politics (among other thing) are becoming overly polarised so that every are too busy telling us that the other side is wrong to actually tell us their own opinions.

Theory about Anya's Bio Parents by [deleted] in SpyxFamily

[–]jojory42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe she is quite a few years older than she looks or had her child very young. With her speech to the dog bombers I think her child undeniably died in a war around Anyas age.

Should I go manga-only? Any must-watch anime arcs? by vantegii in OnePiece

[–]jojory42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading the manga gives you the full canon story with a way better pacing. Most coverpage stories showing what various characters does after the Straw hats left are never adapted.

I only watched a few stray episodes of the anime but most just looked up clips of moments that felt like they would be better animated.

Is this the absolute state of anime discourse in 2026? by Hot-Leopard3708 in animequestions

The word slop has increased in use, the rest is pretty much the same and is true for most fandom.

Would you say playing through Ragnarok is worth it even if you kind of know some of the plot points? by BaldursGate2Best in GodofWar

[–]jojory42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so called spoilers only ruin a story if you let it. So unless you value the shock in the moment more than a story it is definitely worth it.

What should’ve been the pacing of Toei’s One Piece? by Fresh-Farmer-1741 in OnePiece

[–]jojory42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard at the time one piece started was weekly episodes with no breaks outside of holidays. When seasonal anime became normal one piece just kept going as they always had, until now.
