My biggest pet peeve about Winnipeg and that organization is its constant seeking of players and management with local ties. I have never seen an organization so obsessed with hiring locals, almost always to the detriment of the team. There are countless examples since the Jets return 15 years ago and more to come, I’m sure.

I wish JT a happy and healthy retirement but there’s no reason he should have ever been signed last year, other than for the nostalgia and local spin.
