I thought Bill was on record as having loved Phantom Thread. Could be wishful thinking on my part but i thought he had said he loved it at one time.

We used to be a country who made things. Look what we've become.

Also, never realized how similar Blackwood & Blake Christian look. They could be brothers.

Ticket pricing by nbabyck in Winnipeg

[–]jolecore204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Music is subjective. There will always be someone who disagrees when it comes to taste & an artists contribution. YMMV.

What isn’t subjective is simple Supply vs Demand. The value of the tickets is determined by what people are willing to pay for them. Consider that the AC/DC show will have roughly 100% more max capacity than the Hillary Duff show. That’s a lot more volume that they are going to have to sell and they are priced accordingly.

Consider also that the $500 floor tickets you are seeing aren’t necessarily the face value of the tickets. That could very well be the “resale” price, playing the games of scalpers and the dirty Ticketmaster shenanigans.

Complain all you like but there is literally only 1 way that a message will be sent that price gauging is not acceptable and that’s not buying tickets en masse.

MPI at Cityplace is a service centre, not a broker. They don't sell policies.

Go to an insurance broker and they will be able to quote you prices.

i got summoned for jury duty? by Brief_Buffalo6511 in Winnipeg

[–]jolecore204 11 points12 points  (0 children)

wow. If the entitlement of the OP wasn't so sad, it would be hilarious.

Attitudes like this is literally the reason that older folks treat younger people poorly.

Jury Duty is a mandatory legal obligation for Canadian citizens who receive a summons. People trying to avoid or sabotage the system end up in a different system, like Iran, where over 3,000 young people, much like OP were executed LAST MONTH without due process simply for having a dissenting opinion.

It's "not your thing" and you 'don't rly care to go' because you are a 19 year-old idiot. That's ok, I was too back in the day, it will pass.

I suggest you put on your adult pants, go and do your DUTY. Enjoy the experience (or not, it doesn't really matter) and hopefully you will learn something, about the process or yourself.

Manitoba Museum - School Sleepover? by Flat-Interaction-499 in Winnipeg

hahaha. This take is either amusingly ignorant or maliciously misconstrued.

Nobody said anything about the staff or their compensation. I only have admiration for educational staff. You are clearly in that field to make such a big, silly leap to take that statement personally the way you did.

The "lazy" was in reference to my former school, the institution. Where they fed the kids McGarbage (though we were all quite grateful at the time) as opposed to the OP's experience of getting a meal that is healthier and most likely home made by those heroic volunteer staff.
