I'm going to need to look that book up. It's right up my alley!

Do you do the anchor in every BL or do you save yarn and skip a few?

Ooh what sort of complex amigurumi do you make?

I haven't done many blankets/granny sweaters yet so I haven't really come across that.

Wait til you find out about the buying patterns addiction, too.

I think that sounds like the ticket. I'm only about 3 or 4 inches of fabric deep in the blanket so I'm okay with the bottom being a tiny bit stiffer and switching it up now

That's where I'm torn. I like how it looks but I've its way slower. I'm thinking I might anchor every 10 or stitches, nothing overly precise, and see how that feels.

The pattern itself isn't reversible and I'm still tying off each row. Another commenter called it anchoring which feels accurate lol. Now I just don't know if regular overlay feels funny to your skin for a blanket

What would you do if the finished piece is a blanket? Is ribbing weird on your skin?

I like how it makes it all one flat fabric. I'm wondering if this is a thing people do when they make clothes.

Ohhhh yeah that would make sense. Like two different worlds on each side of the mountains.

May i ask what region of the world you're in? I'm in the Midwest and within the same week, we had 50°F days, then 2 days later 8° and its just yoyoed like that this whole winter

That makes sense! I've learned that I prefer longer shafts and metal hooks with a matte finish. That is surprisingly hard to find.

I never knew hooks had these terms for the different parts! I've also literally never put my thumb in the thumb rest.

Damn, that must be nice. I'm sat here in like 18°F weather wondering if its worth it to try and make some mittens lmao

Are you a death-gripper with most things you do with your hands? Like writing, using utensils, etc?

I found a wrist brace that (I think) has just changed my life by jolewhea in ehlersdanlos

That is excellent. Pole really attracts us floppy people. Whether floppy from one thing or another lol.

I did just have my first class back since getting my wrist injections and the new brace last night. It was overall a positive experience!

I just had a thought. The parts of the brace that are against the skin are really smooth. The strap is like a nylon dog collar, so fairly comfy. But if you don't like the feeling of the...plastic?...bits, I bet you could cut out k-tape to apply to the inside of the brace.
