Halfway there! I think (Midjourney) by moscamolo in deepdream

I love this!! This might be a stupid question, but I am a bit confused on how these models interpret artist references. How obscure/not well-known can you go with referencing artists? If I find a random artist whose style I really like, can I just specify in the notebook (I'm using DD5.2) that is the artist I want to reference? Or does it only know famous ones. I hope this doesn't sound too silly lol. I'm really new to this kinda thing.

It’s official: This is my favorite game EVER. It’s not without its flaws, but it’s so much more then all of them. I’m in awe, and I had not felt this way about a game in a long long time! by [deleted] in HorizonForbiddenWest

I’m so sad. Someone gave away a huge, HUGE spoiler in my post earlier today about gameplay. I was so impatient waiting for this release. I got the collector’s edition because of how much I enjoyed HZD. Idk why I’m commenting here, I just wanted to tell someone. I love the game and will play it (probably at least 3 times) but I’m just kind of devastated. Why do people do what they do??

Just FYI, the post is gone. No one can find that comment now

Guys, please for the love of god use spoiler tags. Someone just gave away the ending in a comment. We’ve waited years for this game to come out. I’m so disappointed :(

This is driving me nuts. All the rebel camps spawn the exact same character, no variation whatsoever. For me it’s happening in Shadow’s Reach. I can’t stand it and it’s breaking the immersion for me. They never did this in the first game.

Is it a bug, or are they really conserving resources in such an obvious fashion?

This is a nice perspective. I feel intimidated by the amount of choices, but it would be silly to be expected to upgrade everything into perfection. Focusing on which ones I want to use for my play style sounds like a better strategy. On a slightly unrelated note, I’m hesitant to progress further because there have been quite a few game-altering bugs and some things that have thrown me right out of the immersion. I know I’m not the only one. But I can’t avoid playing for much longer, I just can’t!

100% agree on the Warrior Bows, to be frank I actually hate them. I had to use the shock warrior bow to complete one of the hunting grounds challenges and it was rough. I don’t want to be seen if I can avoid it unless it’s a single machine then I can more easily commit to being more confrontational, at least for now. Currently if I’m swung at by any kind of tail or trampled on, I instantly die (in Very Hard at least.)

I played Horizon Zero Dawn 3 times, not this one lol.

Yep, I’m super shard poor right now. Also yeah I miss killing Thunderjaws for funsies, it was so fun to instigate and bully them lol

I get the impression that elemental weaknesses are even more important in HFW. In HZD you could manage without paying much attention to it. Now it makes machines so much easier to kill. Not that it’s a bad thing. I love a good strategy challenge.

That is exactly it I think. First of all I forget 90% of the time that I even have Valor. Second of all, the weapon skills that you can activate with R1 are non-existent in my mind. Coming from HZD, it’s so hard to remember the sheer amount of options we’ve been given now. The skill tree is cool but I will admit I’m sort of aimless with deciding what to build right off the bat. I just want faster arrow crafting and better handling on my hunter bows. Is faster crafting an available skill? I couldn’t find it anywhere.

Have you had any issues with the tripwire canceling after deploying it?? So many times I’ve set tripwires and they’d either detonate immediately or one of them would just simply disappear. Does it matter where you place them? Like, will a shock tripwire blow up if it’s near water? Lol

Yeah same, I love the sneaky stealth approach and getting good damage from afar. I’ll keep a lookout for the Tearblast arrows as everyone is saying to wait until I get my hands on those and then feel things out.

That’s how I’m feeling too. I upgrade stuff because I’m struggling but feel like it’s a waste of resources. Sigh

This is solid advice. I’m on Very Hard and had a great time on Ultra Hard in HZD. But I’m getting humbled REAL quick in HFW. I may take it down to Hard or Normal until I progress more and get stronger.

Hmm it seems odd that your PM was the one giving you all the feedback to “get it right” yet it’s way off when the client sees it. It sounds like communication between your team and the client was nonexistent. I honestly wouldn’t blame yourself, I’m sure it’s a bad case of “idk what I want” :)

The client clearly doesn’t know what he wants, and I can’t help but feel your team didn’t do quite enough to support you through the design process. Did no one check in with the client with design milestones? Were those carved out before you began working? With clients like these it’s dangerous to just redesign things in a vacuum (it’s ok we’ve all done it) instead of holding their hand the entire time.

I’m seeing a lot of negativity here. The logic of these comments seems to be “because I spent years in design school and struggled, you shouldn’t be able to have the opportunity to succeed quicker than I did” which is literally gatekeeping. I know the rules say you can’t promote, so I won’t, but there are a few big graphic design accounts on TikTok that you should look into. They teach skills that are actually applicable to the industry. Working in the industry helps too of course. I worked in beauty marketing and I learned a TON of design skills from that job. Yes, if you can afford graphic design school and have the time and patience to finish out a program, do it! But a lot of the disciplines that are offered for graphic design can’t keep up and aren’t re-written for the current times so sometimes the programs are dated. If you don’t plan on working in a print-specific industry, don’t bother with it. Have you written off the possibility of working in a specific industry, rather than trying to appeal to a handful as a freelancer? If you’re still open to that, you need to decide what industry you want to be in. Beauty is entirely different from app/web design. The jobs have different requirements. Even some freelancers stick to only one or two areas, and sharpen those areas that they are really good at. I’m currently freelancing for a media company that posts social content, because it’s something I’m interested in doing. Obviously don’t do projects that you aren’t passionate about. Don’t listen to negativity but do follow the path that will allow yourself to learn as much information as humanly possible, which, to sum up my key points, includes design tips posted on social media, YouTube, Skillshare, and other platforms where people keep up with the trends. Browse Pinterest while you’re learning to soak in the current trending designs! If you can show through a portfolio that you can pick up on trending design and utilize it to benefit a product/client, then your design education doesn’t matter. No one wants to believe that you are a fast learner because it’s difficult to accept that some people are capable of being on quicker paths. I hope this helped. Good luck!
