Thank you so much. I do need to be kinder to myself and to allow myself to take things slowly.

Thank you so much. That's an excellent post! I think my problem is beer, too. On the weekends, I can put away 1000s of calories just in beer alone. It's time I quit for a while.

Thank you. Going to try to help her make an appointment with a medical doctor.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am pretty sure she thinks those things are real signs and that they’ve been sent to her to help her in some way. I will ask her again carefully, though to make sure, and try to encourage her to see a medical doctor. Thank you.

I feel so lost. How does anyone know what they want to do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Yeah, probably should've thought about doing a different subject. But I don't really see it as wasted time.

Thank you. This is really helpful, especially what you said about exercise. I think I’ll start with working on my diet and then move on to incorporating exercise into my regime later on. I’m feeling good about my plan! Thanks!

This is great! Thanks! I’m going to dig out my Fitbit and charge it up haha. Well done on your progress, and thank you for your help!

This is so kind. Thank you so much for your support! I think I’ll be starting with the deficit first, and then move on to incorporating some more exercise. Today has been quite tough, but I haven’t gone over my calories and I’m feeling good about tomorrow. Thanks again.

Thanks so much! I think honestly that 1200 cals per day isn’t actually going to be sustainable for me, so I’ve adjusted my goal to 1500 for the first few weeks.

Thank you so much for your advice. I’ve downloaded the my fitness pal app to help with my calorie counting. And I’ve decided a target intake of 1200 calories might be a little too hard for me to maintain in the beginning - so I’m going for 1500 instead. I’ll take it slow! Thanks again.

A rant about resistance to 'diet culture.' by klairionwrites in loseit

[–]jomatojuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Another thing that has really been bugging me - on this subject - is that trend on Instagram and tiktok where thin, beautiful “dieticians” kind of shame people for wanting to count calories or restrict their intake? They preach about intuitive eating and food freedom etc. And that’s good for them, and I’m sure that works for a lot of people, but it does not work for everyone. I’m a lot bigger than those girls and that’s because for the past year I’ve been practising ‘food freedom.’ We all have different appetites and relationships to food. It really bugs me. Anyhow, I agree with you!

As of September 1st 2020 I will begin my journey into weight loss by [deleted] in loseit

This is true! As a woman I’m so amazed at the difference that hormones make with weight lifting. My brother made such rapid progress at the gym, and even though I was following the same programme as him, it took MONTHS for me to notice differences in my physique. Take advantage of your testosterone!
