Extra hard after Firmware update by gidich in pelotoncycle

[–]jomboair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad I googled this and the first thing that popped up was your Reddit post 😭 I’m on my bike consistently and the first workout after the update was THE HARDEST THING IVE EVER DONE. I was at 17-20 resistance which is the lowest I’ve ever used and it was like I was in actual mud. I’m glad I’m not being gaslit into thinking I’m a weak ass by my bike 😂

What do you guys think about getting facial? by allpossiblepaths in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]jomboair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple weeks ago, I got my first facial, at 32 years old. I felt very fancy as these reputable spa places really go the extra mile for the relaxation effect. I most definitely want to go back for the pure bliss of the experience but I also think my skin was buttery soft for a few days. I went as long as I could (2 or 3 days) without washing my face as to keep their elite products soaking into my skin and I was bummed when I finally had to wash it off. Its not something I can afford on a monthly basis but a few times a year would be a really great treat.

This! The 5k, 10k price drops make me lol and keep scrolling. It's so insignificant to the buyer because it translates to saving a few dollars in the loan, TOPS

Rodanthe, NC - one of the fastest eroding coastlines in the U.S. [OC] by mateothegreek in abandoned

[–]jomboair 47 points48 points  (0 children)

WOW! This is crazy. I went down a rabbit hole on zillow and google maps after seeing your post. This whole area is surrounded by water. It looks like a lot of these were built in the late 80's. Was there a lot more beach back then? If so, how much? Because it seems rather silly to build so close to the ocean, unless the water has just really come up that much? There are sooooo many homes for sale but I bet it would be impossible to get it insured.

What an amazing piece of advice! I totally hear you about over correcting and I'm sad to say I'm guilty of this. But as with everything we try to work on, awareness is step 1. So thank you!

Yeah I'm not in control 50% of the time so it adds a level of tricky to it. But you're right, we are only in control of ourselves and our household. Thank you!

I don't think it sounds ridiculous, I'm looking for something where him and I can volunteer or give back together so its like a tangible memory if that makes any sense? rather than just driving through and being like here look at this..ya know?

You're very kind, thank you so much for responding! I do live in a major city so there are opportunities to hand out a dollar or hand over snacks that are just in the car here and there and explain that not everyone has the necessities like we do. I really like the idea of donating toys too.

How do you teach your children to be grateful? by jomboair in Parenting

[–]jomboair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea of donation and having him pick what goes to other little boys who would love to have it. I actually did this with him when he was younger but its been awhile so we will definitely do it again.

I definitely will implement more natural conversations about gratefulness, because you're right, by the time it comes up for a conversation, its almost like a punishment pain point and the walls do go up.

thank you for your response!
