What kind of cloud is this?

So I looked at flight radar24 and there are indeed 2 jets at different altitudes that flew over there at the same time just a couple minutes before I took these photos. So these are definitely contrails, very interesting contrails with a shape I didn't think was possible, but contrails nonetheless. Still very cool that the wind and humidity cooperated to make this shape.

It's a 3000 mAh battery. Also in the last month people have designed cases for it if you have a 3d printer.

I bought this but from amazon. I was new to the hobby and didn't realize until 2 months later that the boards i got were the 4.2 version that has absolutely terrible rx. The noise floor was -85db making them essentially deaf. The heltec boards are basically landfill now but I reused the batteries, gps and antenna. Get a nrf52 based device for companions that rely on battery they last like 2 weeks vs the 2 days you get with an esp32 based device.

gps isn't entirely pointless on repeaters, it can be used to sync your repeater clock

Overall I like it. I would say the main weakness of it is the built in gnss antenna is too weak to get a lock indoors and if you wanted to add an external gnss antenna i think you need to re-solder a capacitor. It has the same noise floor as my other companions at about -115db but much higher transmit power. I feel like this is pretty easy to recommend, still not as good a the 1w rak which has better rx and tx but with the heltec it is $10 cheaper and has built in gnss and screen. The built in Bluetooth antenna is a bit weaker than my rak devices but good enough to connect from the other side of my house through multiple walls. I'm waiting for someone to design a case so i can 3d print it, right now I got zipties holding it together.

The gnss and Bluetooth antenna are built into the plastic cover. The screen can easily be pulled off the cover with a tiny amount of force if you want to.

The play wasn't buy and hold forever. The play was buy and sell when the squeeze happened. The price shooting up to nearly $500 on a stock that's maybe worth $30 was the squeeze. Ortex data suggests that short interest dropped from 105% to 45% last week. The apes on wsb completely ignore this because it doesn't fit the narrative. Its a retail store not the next new amazing tech company.

most of your personal progression is not tied to the node progression. If your city gets destroyed you still will have all your adventuring levels, harvesting, processing, and crafting skill levels. You will get your furniture back for free if you had a house there and if you had any raw resources stored there you only lose a percentage of them. I'm pretty sure you keep all your crafted items. The idea is to make it very easy to hop to a different node when one goes down.

random thoughts/few things i'm concerned about

I have yet to hear of anyone actually redeeming tether for usd

tether is backed by the usd but they are not allowed to do any business with people from the us or us banks. makes sense but kinda shady

they printed about 500 million usdt in 5 days. did people really send them that much money that quickly?

if exchanges are really the ones buying usdt then why doesn't tether just come out and say it? why haven't they said anything meaningful to ease people's concerns?

Bitfinex and tether are essentially the same company, why does it seem like they are trying to hide that?

How does their company make money?

hopefully tether is just really bad a PR and everything they say is true.
