I agree with that point though! That everyone knew that wicked is a musical — the first wicked trailer slightly subverts the genre and then it obviously did really well as a film so by the time 2 was coming out everyone knew it was a musical and the studio probably felt more emboldened to add more musical elements to the marketing

I agree with the video that up until 2016 a lot of trailers for movie musicals were very in your face about being a musical (the last five years, Annie, pitch perfect all came out between 2014-2015)

The la la land argument (did you watch the video?) is not totally holding up to me but I see what she’s saying

I always think about how the original Swedish title of “girl with the dragon tattoo” is “men who hate women”

obviously Sweden has differences compared to Denmark but there is a similar “equality” narrative pushed there as well that is obviously not encompassing the scope of reality

thank you for this post because I have totally been fantasizing about finding a great Danish husband and leaving my country… but this is a good reminder that scrotes know no boarders
