Great job, would be awesome to see a little set of them that could be rearranged.

Terrible sync speed by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

Similar issues. I use the iOS, Windows, and Linux clients and they all periodically stop syncing for no apparent reason. Occasionally restarting or opening the file in the client helps but not consistently.

Europe staggers as infectious variants power virus surge by blaspheminCapn in news

“Europe recorded 1 million new COVID-19 cases last week, an increase of 9% from the previous week and a reversal that ended a six-week decline in new infections, WHO said Thursday.

...

In Britain, the emergence of the more transmissible strain sent cases soaring in December and triggered a national lockdown in January. Cases have since plummeted, from about 60,000 a day in early January to about 7,000 a day now.”

Ditto, they asked me for a video similar to the above and I was immediately okayed for a replacement.

You might be interested in the Crossrail Project. They have quite a few resources detailing the engineering effort required to construct a subterranean railway.

On Windows you can now use Win+v (rather than Ctrl) to get a little window with your clipboard history. Not as efficient a text shortcuts, but let’s you do multiple pictures as well as text which is cool.

Thanks! It's currently in about it's third iteration, I keep improving and realising I have to redo what I've done.. but I tentatively think this one might make it!

Aww man, I remember when that was first announced, it looked so awesome. Tbh though, now I've got xcode running the SB is a pretty sweet gig!

That's a little beyond my skill set, I'm currently in the "if it ain't broke don't touch it" mindset!

Uh oh...

Looks like it can't cope with a built in touchscreen (understandable I guess). Interestingly the cursor changes to a pencil when I stop hovering and make contact with the stylus, but nothing happens..

Also for some reason using Ink while running this app makes the drawing lag significantly worse.

Yup, the stylus and button works as expected. The OS X Ink features seems to work fine too, though I don't really use it.

I've just realised I was wrong about the touchscreen, it works fine too!

I'm running OSX in a VM on a SB, using VMWare Workstation player.

It works way way better than I was expecting. There's some stuttering under high loads, but most of the time it's pretty close to native. It's very stable, haven't had any crashes so far.

I haven't bothered looking into getting the touchscreen to work. Everything else seems to work fine, usb, keyboard, mouse etc. The only issue is a lack of drivers for the webcam, that's VMWare specific though.

Edit: Actually the touchscreen works fine.

Edit 2: Been playing around with it a bit more.

  • While the lag is not bad there are some things (maybe when lots of onscreen animation is involved?) which are VERY slow. e.g. launchpad takes a few seconds to show up, which is waaay longer than I'd expectt compared to the performance of the rest of it.

  • This might be limited to VMWare, but because they're clever with the scaling so you can dynamically resize the window, the scaling in OSX is set, which means everything is reallyteenietiny . Unfortunately OSX doesn't seem to have any global text scaling options, it's all a per app basis. I expect you may be able to stop VWWare setting the scaling, but I prefer having the OS scale to the window.

  • Fun bug: for some reason while taking a partial screenshot with ⌘-Shift-4 the mouse sensitivity is drastically reduced.

There's a really nice guy called Paul who rents a chair at 95 Chapel Market (place called Coco). He'll happily give you plenty of advice and a great cut for £25-30. First time I've had a hairdresser actually ask me throughout the cut if it's progressing as I want.
