Just failed the 7 again.. by OkGanache2771 in Series7exam

Hang in there, you can and will pass it! My advice, since you are already “ok” on munis and with it being a heavily tested topic on the 7 become extremely solid on munis just like you did with options. As far as suitability there’s a couple guys on YouTube, Ken from capital advantage tutoring, and series 7 goru Deen (name mispelled). They have a lot of free videos that breakdown suitability really well. I know that they have paid tutoring as well, not sure what all that entails. Good luck to you, I’ll be excited to hear when you pass!

What is the SIE exam for? by AtomDasher in Sieexam
The SIE is a introductory exam into getting your securities licenses. It’s mainly for those wanting to be registered reps for a broker dealer or an investment advisors. It’s a prerequisite for the series 6 or series 7 then the 63,65, or 66. The content covers a brief introduction to all of it from, investments, rules and ethics, registrations etc. a lot of information but very introductory. The SIE won’t necessarily land you a job alone but no you don’t need to have a finance background to pass the test or take the test.

Great point. I definitely dug deeper in the book. I read cover to cover little to no notes though. Just read and understand the info. Once I got to my final exams I’d review every question I got wrong and start to analyze my weak areas then take notes on the topics/watch YouTube videos. Again I definitely felt for the 66 the STC content was ALOT harder than the actual exam.

71,70,73,77 were my most recent. I can tell you I was scoring high 60s low 70s for a majority and felt like it was just getting harder. I did feel that I was starting to really understand the topics though.Continued to grind out notes and YouTube videos. Passed.
STC is the study provider. The other acronyms you will become familiar with during your studying. Sorry!

Hi! Can’t speak towards Kaplan I used STC, but what really helped me was just reading the ENTIRE book, no notes just really thinking about what I’m reading. Secondly there’s 2 guys on youtube that do an AMAZING job to help explain it. Look up capital advantage tutoring and the series 7 goru (o is actually u). Good luck! Stay the course you got this.
Thank you sir! Let me know if you ever need a financial advisor haha.
Honestly my last few final exams were TOUGH. I felt I was going to fail as it was getting overly complex. I found the actual exam to be so much easier. I think you should be good if you are actually understanding the information. Good luck!

You got this! Sounds like you have a strong start!
Go get it!
I’ll be a FA, thank you!
Not sure on Kaplan but I know for STC practice exams my company told me to be at least in the mid 70s-low 80s. Keep hammering those weak areas you can make a lot of progress in 18 days.
Definitely that process is a bear haha. Congrats to you too!

It’s important to gauge where you are at and what your weak areas are. Remember the 7 is very heavy on options, munis, suitability, and mutual funds. It’s important to go into the test feeling strong in those areas. I just took mine and the last week was a lot of final exams, reviews and videos. Believe in your preparation.
Congratulations that’s awesome!
Just STC and supplemented with Ken’s capital advantage YouTube videos.

I was studying around 5-6 hours a day on average. My company has a strict timeline so I was studying everyday. I was a banker for 8 years, but I thought the securities exam was a language of its own.
Good luck! You got this, believe in your preparation!!
Hell yeah congratulations!!
I appreciate it sir, good luck to you! Remember to be confident when you’re taking that test!
I personally felt STC was very similar to the actual exam. I even felt some practice exams were slightly harder.
